LBJ Wade Crowder Green Cedi is a nice late game defensive lineup with length I'd like to see used a bit

For those saying Cedi's future is a very good role player, I don't agree.

While technically even Lebron is a role player, the term is used for non stars. Cedi has every tool to be a star at this level, and I am as shocked as anyone he is this good, You are seeing a rookie forcing his way into major minutes on a very, very deep team. Eventually that 3 point shot will be consistent, and eventually those drives to the basket will be more natural.

I really feel Cedi has the ability to maker an all star game or two in about 4 or 5 years if he keeps progressing as he has. He has the length, athletic ability and basketball IQ to go beyond just a role player.

He isn't your typical rookie though. Sure it's his first year in the NBA, but he has been to two Eurobaskets already in which he was fantastic, and one Olympics qualifier. That's what I know, so maybe there's more in his resume.

I think we are only scratching the surface here... but we need him to gain more and more on ball responsibilities to really see what's up.

Haters gonna hate I guess. :conf (11): Some people are too stuck in their opinions to give certain individuals credit for anything.

“Ty Lue doesn’t care about young players”

If he tightens up his dribble (like Dom said, more on ball duty required here) and continues to improve his perimeter shooting then the sky is the limit. My favorite thing about him is that he does the little things that have an impact on the wins and losses column (help, recover, contest) and puts himself in a position to either get the shot or be the guys that gets the hockey assist.

My least favorite thing this season is watching how selfish some of our regulars are when playing with Cedi (I remember watching Shump shoot 10 shots in a row down 30 points...I was fuming on an irrational level). Jeff Green and Calderon have done that on a few occasions recently where they are just gunning away or icing him out completely, and Cedi can be less passive but everything is new to him this year so I'm giving him a pass. Our star players actually make a note of letting him touch the ball (shout out to Waiters) and Korver as well as Frye do a great job of involving him and reassuring him on bad plays or BS foul calls. This needs to be a Ty Lue thing, where you take a timeout to run a play for Cedi or you at least run him at point. Ty Lue's eyes light up every time he's asked about Cedi and finds his intelligence and pace refreshing. Ty Lue needs to give him more minutes but circumventing the ego and politics of a veteran locker room might be too much.

Right now Cedi is proving himself as a valuable complimentary piece who can play excellent on ball defense, switch 1-4, (or 1-5 if teams go small), provide energy and rebounding and scrap for 50-50 balls, and run the court in transition with the best of them.

That's not a bad starting point. For now he's deferring on offense but he makes quick decisive passes that keep the offensive flow going. We don't need him to be a marquis scoring threat... yet.

Let him find his footing in this current role, and let it grow organically as he gains confidence and a comfort level. This is how you develop a talented young player without force feeding him and without destroying his confidence by expecting too much too soon.

If things can continue this way I expect Cedi to be cemented into the rotation as a reliable contributor come March.

He is an unknown even to the guys on the team. If he keeps cutting and rebounding and running the floor, he will get his opportunities. Even LeBron missed him wide open under the basket at least 2x last game.

As he makes shots and layups, they will trust him more. I don't mind them using him primarily for defense and transition scoring. If he plays to his strengths he will get more opportunities. I think this last game was an eye opener for everyone including the team and coach. Should have had Cedi in the lineup once IT went out in the 4th. He kept that lineup in it defensively.

I been trying to compare his game to a current player and I finally found the players. He remind me of a young Gordan Hayward with the defensive iq of Dwayne Wade. This guy can be an all time great. Seriously.

WE'RE BACK, BABY!

Who knew that the greatest of all-time wasn't LeBron, but a player currently coming off our bench?

1. LeBron
2. Cedi
3. Jordan

In 50 years this will become a fact.

Wish we would just play him 20-25 mins every night regardless ( to an extent) of how hes playing and see how far he develops before playoffs.

I actually prefer us not playing Cedi with the starting lineup for now. At this point I'm least confident in his catch and shoot 3 point ability, and that's what most of his possessions would consist of as our starting 2. Playing with at least some bench players allows us to get more creative in involving him in plays, not to mention it doesn't throw him into the deep end on defense.

I thought he would be limited athletically and he isn't. He doesn't have big hops, but he can hold his own. His big question mark is shooting, I guess. If he can add consistency with the 3 ball, he could be really good.
