What seems to stick out the most to me is that the moment never seems to large for him. I feel the hardest adjustment for rookies is getting used to the speed and physicality of the NBA, which tends to make rookies think a lot more on the court: "Should i switch on to this guy? Where's this rebound going to land? Holy shit, I am guarding (insert NBA star), fuck fuck fuck." Thinking is the enemy of doing in any sport at any level.
Cedi looks to be one of the most instinctive players on our team, regardless of his age. THIS, IMO, is one of the hardest things to coach into a young player. It often takes a 1-2 year adjustment where you hope the game slows down for them and they can just go out there and play without hesitation. It's obvious that Cedi's tutelage he's received professionally and while playing for the Turkish national league has molded his mindset to be lightyears ahead of your typical rookie straight out of college.
The things he has struggled with - handles and 3 pt. shooting - are easy things to correct with the proper instruction. His feel for the game is already at a high level, not just for a rookie, but for your typical NBA player. There are guys that chase that feel for the game their whole career and more often than not, not knowing what to do at the right time is the difference between being a key contributor on a team vs. a warm body on the bench who only sees important minutes if someone in front of him goes down. Cedi seems to make the right play regularly. He seems to position his body for 50-50 balls correctly. That's why I am pretty excited about him moving forward.
