You left someone out who gave Cedi high praise after the game last night.

I thought we were playing the petty disagreeing game. I had quite a bit of fun the other night... chuckling under my blanket.

In regards to Lue, I disagreed because he played Cedi out of necessity and still only plays him 7 minutes per game (where he barely touches the ball when he can do so much more), and continues to play JR over 30 minutes a game even though it's clear to all that Cedi brings something that the team needs more than what JR has to offer at the moment.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cedi lost his minutes once Rose and Shump came back because that's what Lue does.

Dog, I have nothing against you, I just don't think Lue needs any credit for playing Cedi 7 minutes a game when it's so easy to see that he needs even more minutes and more touches.

It's kinda funny to me that Lue always seems surprised by Cedi... like he doesn't know what he is capable of. Maybe because we don't practice?

Also, I'd like to add Ante's latest G-League performance as a reminder that he is better than TT, or atleast not worse than TT.

Look at his touch around the rim... beautiful. Dominating the G-League with 28 PER which translates to around 40 in the NBA. Seriously, we need to develop this guy.

You dude, How much for turkish tutoring? I want to read turkish comments on youtube after Cedi's performances and Google translator keeps fucking it up.

Anyhow, seems like Cedi is some kind of a god in Turkey judging by the amount of caps and heart symbols I see. At the very least the most likeable turkish athlete right?

Cedi said TLue told him before the game that he was going to be the 6th man for last night's game, and TLue said he intends to use Cedi that way going forward. I would say that is a huge step forward and it shows that Lue is setting the stage to utilize Cedi more going forward. I know you hate Lue but my opinion is that Lue is trying to develop and protect Cedi, and he's cautious about just throwing him into the deep end.

You know, Lue could have easily put Calderon in as the 6th man to replace IT and cover his minutes restriction.

I posted TLue's post game interview above. Watch that and tell me Lue doesn't just positively light up when he talks about Cedi and what Cedi brings to the table. TLue absolutely LOVES Cedi.

LOL that's a soccer goalkeeper throw. Clearly grew up watching and playing soccer.

That was my first thought. Majority of kids growing up in Europe who are at all sportingly inclined will play Soccer at some point. Very few at that age like it but everyone has to play in goal occasionally, that technique keeps the ball flat, not spinning up off the ground, makes it easy for the recipient to control. Risks being intercepted in the NBA if it is not going to the corner though.

I love Cedi's energy, so many vets on this roster who are managing themselves through the season, saving energy as much as possible. Not Cedi, full of enthusiasm, plays at a high tempo throughout. Against these lower teams who are full of young players trying to make a mark he should be getting a lot of minutes. Need to match their energy. He makes good decisions with the ball as well, fundamentally a very sound player.

Yes, Turkish people wants him to be successful. People going crazy in here when he got some good moves on the court. Actually, there were more talented players than him when he started play professionally. Of the same age of course. But Cedi always worked, worked, worked. He always practises before practise, you don't see it often. And now he has left everyone else far behind. We appreciate that.

I've written about it in detail before.

I've been watching him for years. I'm 3 years older than him but I love him like a son and everybody feels like that in Turkey. Whether they are Anadolu Efes fans or not. There is an 8 hour difference between Turkey and US but so many people have set an alarm to watch him.(of course mostly students and unemployed lol)

He is a hard worker, sincere, respectful, ambitious, lovable, humble, energetic kid. He invited to the Jordan Brand Classic International Game in 2011, he scored 14 points with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 steals in 27 minutes alongside and met Michael Jordan. He said "when I met MJ, this moment I will never forget it was one of the most important moments in my life." Maybe it changed when he came Cleveland, I don't know :)

He said "First of all I want to play for A team in Efes, then Turkish National Team, and then of course NBA" when he was 16. All done. The under-20 squad that won the 2014 FIBA Europe Under-20 and he won MVP of the 2014 tournament. (1:06)

Then he has played at the 2014 FIBA World Cup with Turkey Senior National Team. (By the way, he defended Derrick Rose when Turkey played aganist US:)) This tournament was his first Senior National Team experience.

We always said "he is our future for National Team". And the future came. He led the Turkish National Team for Eurobasket 2017. He is really fighter. He always gives 100% effort. Never gives up and fights to the very end. He is very ambitious. Look at him in 1:47:00)

Like I said, Cedi is a hard worker and he can do what ever he wants. I believe him.

PS: Sorry for my bad English.

Haters gonna hate I guess. :conf (11): Some people are too stuck in their opinions to give certain individuals credit for anything.

Yeah, I watched that interview and it does look like Lue likes Osman and it also looks like he is surprised by what he can do. There is not much to not like because Lue likes to push the pace and Cedi does exactly that, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Shump and Rose take his place, or did you really hear him say that he is going to stay in the rotation when they come back?

I just think that Lue does some things that some of them are not purely based on basketball performance... Part of being a coach is making the hard choices, and it seems like he almost always takes the easier ones to avoid conflict or added drama.

It's not a Lue thread though, but I just don't think Lue should get any credit for playing Osman 7 minutes per game when there are more than one players playing poorly occupying that position.

Just going to say....

It's not a huge leap from 6th man to starting SG. Cedi is the roster fallback if JR doesn't contribute at the necessary level.

AIn't happening but it's also a great way to get TT out of the rotation. I'ts been suggested IT play 1st and 3rd quarters so that would allow Lebron to play with Wade, Cedi, Green, Korver. Great size across the board

Really, we’d be a better team if he started at the 2 instead of JR.

He has the exact type of game that fits well between LeBron and Isaiah.

Plus, JR has been garbage.

I was thinking this same thing during the game. I don't think a change like that would happen until next year though, unfortunately.

Formally, you're probably right. But if JR goes into a funk, he may be subbed out pretty quickly for Cedi. Or to put it differently, it may be that by the playoffs, Cedi is actually playing more total minutes.

I thought the exact same thing... it makes too much sense.

Also, Cedi is learning from Wade regarding cuts to the basket. He made a cut yesterday where he went to the center of the court than slashed to the basket. He drew a second defender and then the Cavs got an open three because of it. It was classic Wade, but it was Cedi doing it.

I was low on the kid, but he’s been nothing other than impressive this season.
