The Trump Administration (just Trump) Thread

The bill congress is crafting? The letter we write to our people in congress. Whether we support this policy that is being crafted.

See...I guess I don't really see what Trump saying something stupid has to do with the merits of a bill. Either it's a good bill, or it isn't. 5 years down the road when it is (or isn't law), some asshole comment by Trump won't matter in how the bill is applied.

And in terms of changing minds on the immigration bill itself...what's the logic there?

"I was in favor of merit-based immigration rather than the lottery. Then Trump mentioned shithole countries, so I changed my mind." It just doesn't make sense to me.

November cannot get here soon enough...

Poll: Dems lead by 17 points on generic ballot in House

Democrats have opened up a massive 17-point advantage in generic ballot polling for the House ahead of the 2018 midterm elections, according to the latest survey from Quinnipiac University.

When voters were asked if they would rather see Republicans or Democrats win control of the House in 2018, 52 percent said Democrats, while 35 percent said Republicans. Thirteen percent were undecided.

Those findings give Democrats a greater advantage than most other recent polls. According to the RealClearPolitics average, Democrats have a 12-point advantage in the generic ballot.

Still, many political observers are predicting a Democratic wave election and likening the 2018 political landscape to 2006, during former President George W. Bush’s second term in office, when Democrats picked up 30 seats and seized control of the House and the Senate.

That year, Democrats entered Election Day with an 8-point generic ballot lead, according to the RealClearPolitics average.

In the 2010 midterm elections, when the GOP picked up 63 seats in the House and won control of both chambers of Congress, Republicans had a 7-point advantage in the generic ballot, according to the RealClearPolitics average.

I wouldn’t worry about the politics of it. Trump is just going to keep doing dumb things. He can’t go one week without doing something foolish. His popularity isn’t going to improve much. And the Republicans who have supported him will be dragged down right along with him. I’m just worried that this unhinged buffoon will do more things that are harmful to our nation and its citizens.

Ohh get out of here. @The Oi look at all these pussies that refuse to admit calling a place a shithole. :chuckle:

Wow look at that, a personal insult.

And you're arguing with a mod in this thread too.

It's like you've been fighting so hard against this perceived liberal enemy that you've become the very thing you think we are.

You're personally insulting people, you're claiming a moral superiority, and you're playing the victim (specifically as an example) with a mod when he never said anything personally to you.

I just don't get it Tyguy.

"He who fights with monsters should be careful lest he thereby becomes a monster. And if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee."

Are you building a case to get me banned?

Why exactly can’t I disagree with a mods actions anyway?

I just don’t believe that for one second all these people here never say anything bad about a place.

@TyGuy - You've made your points, and should let this go. You are fighting an unwinnable battle, which is never a good look.

Trump said something stupid. Whether or not it was "true" really doesn't matter. It's like if you're meeting your prospective in-laws for the first time, and say "you're fat" to the mom. Even if she is fat, it's still a dumb as hell thing to say.

Trump shouldn't have said it. Whether him doing so should be treated as the end of the world or just as a dumb gaffe is rather besides the point, and nobody is going to be convinced one way or the other. He shouldn't have said it. To the extent you keep arguing about it, you're simply providing a larger platform for people to continue ranting about it.

This is one of those issue that gets far more said about it than it deserves. It just isn't complicated enough to be worth all the effort.

I agree, it was dumb to say. That also doesn’t make it racist and I refuse to believe we have so many people here that have never said bad things about a place.

It’s just ridiculous what they’re asking us to believe.

Don't ask Jigs to save you in the thread.

Here, I'll throw you a bone. I've done jokes on stage about how places are shit holes. Indianapolis. Detroit. Youngstown. Columbus and Cleveland multiple times. I could go on and on. Hell, I loved making those type of jokes while IN those cities.

However, that has nothing to do with what Trump said. At all. False equivalence *drink*. To match what Trump said, let's say I lived in the inner city and I said "I don't want these people from small town rural Indiana or Kentucky migrating into my city, but I'd love to bring in people from Harlem and inner city Detroit", you and your weird RCF anti-lib alliance would be up in arms about how racism against whites is acceptable now. See how that's not the same thing at all? Shit, we're talking about people on a Cavs message board, not the leader of the Free world addressing leadership in Congress.

This shouldn't be a left or right issue, and props to the posters in here who recognize that. I've disagreed hard on a lot of issues with posters like @MediumBaller, @The Human Q-Tip , and @billmac91 , but respect them a lot for being able to be objective and not desperately deflect anything negative that happens to their "team" no matter what.

Anyway, I got off work early due to bad weather so I'm gonna drink Whiskey and watch the snow fall. Enjoy the shit show!

Stop what? If you’re going to step in and say to cool things down it’s probably best to not favor one side.

Step away man. You need a break.

Nobody says you have to believe it. But you can not believe it without arguing about it.
