2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Couldn't agree more. From the article:

"You (can) make an argument for the negative,'' said McShay. "If you look at the top 20 quarterbacks in the NFL, there isn't one that's completed less than 60 percent coming out of college. He's at 56 percent. He did not play at the highest level (Mountain West Conference). That's fine. I can get over it.

"You go watch the tape and you see arguably the most talented quarterback we've seen in the last five years just from a physical tools standpoint. And in Cleveland, he fits what they're looking for.''

They use Carson Wentz as the comparison, but Wentz had a 64% completion percentage, with 45 TD's and 14 picks. Allen was a 56 percent, with 44 TD, and 21 picks. That 56% completion percentage isn't even close to that 60% threshold. I wouldn't consider him that high for the exact same reason I wouldn't consider Lamar Jackson that high, and Jackson at least hit 60% in one year.

They also compare him to Roethlisberger, but again, Ben had a career 65.5% completion percentage, and 69% his senior year.

No thanks. You don't use the first overall pick on a guy who couldn't hit the statistical threshold met by every single one of the top 20 QB's in the league when they were in college.

These stats don’t mean shit when projecting a player to the NFL. You should know better.

Umm they mean a lot when people are trying to justify picking that player over other guys who've put up better numbers and played better against similar competition.

Let' be honest. Josh Allen didn't play against great competition in his conference and when he did get an opportunity to play against better competition he stunk it up. What exactly has h done then to justify being picked over Rosen, Darnold, Mayfield, Jackson, or Rudolph? If you can't answer that without drooling over his size which means jack shit in the NFL then what is it?

What are people projecting for a QB who by all accounts is not very good? What exactly gives people the notion that he has all of these tools yet he by far looks like the worse QB of the ones I mentioned. His statistics are by far the worse and even though he doesn't play against stellar competition when given the chance he looked very bad. What is it with this guy?

You just can't take a QB at one who is a total project when you have a coaching staff who can't develop guys for shit. Makes no sense.

That should be painted above the entrance to ESPN's campus like Notre Dame's "Play Like a Champion Today" sign...

The funny thing is that Allen didnt really win that much, either. So even that doesnt comply.

I wonder how much Allen's agent paid Mel...because no way in hell is Allen the no. 1 overall prospect.

Kizer was a better prospect than Allen.

I actually think Kizer is a better prospect than Allen, and I didnt like Kizer.

I can't fathom the laziness of that take by Kiper.

Fucking dog whistle to internet scouts like myself and so many others on here who could certainly do better than that trash.
