edit: the point of this post is two fold. 1) you contribute absolutely nothign to this board by shouting out that baker mayfield is kellen moore every chance you get. Its not only obnoxious, its a ridiculous comparison.

Two, as i pointed out yesterday Mayfield was extremely successful against even the best defenses he played, so while mayfield's entire body of work maybe inflated a bit because of the defenses he still did very well against the good defenses.

Yeah and trying to make a point using stats to back up your argument is very much encouraged on this board. He may have presented it in a bad way but still it should be encouraged especially for new posters

Not what I have a problem with.

The underlying tone is. We are seeing too many threads lapse into personal vendettas because people can't be civil. New posters should be encouraged from the start to be civil. Don't want bad habits to form.
 
Let's recap:

Confirmation bias is a problem for everyone if people are too hard-headed. Some posts from both B00bie and statman have been alarmingly mean spirited towards one another. You two dont agree and neither of you intend to change your minds.

So stop engaging each other. Nobody here enjoys an internet fight last past about an hour at most... This is a forest fire that has gone on too long.

I think that's a fair place to leave it. There will be a lot of new information coming out when the combine starts, let's all try not to be unopen to new information. We are all Browns fans here, God help us.

Wait, what?

I haven’t had literally one mean spirited post here, I have pointed out the fallacy that his inflated stats are meaningful towards his NFL prospect status.

Your heart is in the right place, here. A more seasoned football fan has seen year after year what to look for in college QBs that translates to the pros... and just looking at stats is myopic in my opinion and the opinions of many around here.

That said, it's day two that you have been butting heads with him and today you dropped a "contributing nothing to the board." It's time to let him live with his delusions if he isn't coming to your side. I want to nip this before it gets uglier than a little jab back and forth.

Agreed AZ, do not feed the trolls. There is no point even talking to someone who thinks college stats are everything.

yeah but those stats should mean something. I mean i got it that mayfield at 70+% competition rate isnt everything, however allen at just a 55% is a damn good reason to discount him.
 
Great college stats aren’t an indicator of NFL success, but terrible college stats most certainly are typically an indicator of NFL failure.
