As I mentioned during the ASB , Cedi will be phased out and slowly worked down to 9-10 man off the bench role. Hood starting tonight in his place . Go move imo

Yes it's a great move to remove one of the few players on the team who consistently tries to play defense on the team. Especially when they have started to become more and more comfortable on offense.

Never develop young players on cheap contracts everyone it's the Cavs way!!!!!!

Nances promotion good feeling had subsided after hearing of Cedis demotion.

On paper he is our best matchup defensively to throw at the Warriors and was just starting to find his groove and role in the offense. Should have extracted maximum value out of Loves absence...bench him when Love comes back if you want, why now?

He just started taking and making shots because he was compelled to be a threat on the offensive end to ease the burden on Lebron in terms of spacing. Is he going to continue the uptrend in terms of role off the bench or is he going to take the backseat? Who is going to find him for the cuts and get him easy baskets?

It sucks Cedi is getting moved to the bench but I think it was necessary with the lack on PFs on the team. Hood would get beat up playing PF, Cedi should get the backup minutes for both forward positions.

Hood at this point is more talented than Cedi and has a much higher ceiling this year . He could be our best 2nd option until Love returns . Why not start him over Cedi ? Disagree with my post all you want . I stated this would happen and it’s happening .

Basically we have no PFs. Hood can't play the 4 so Cedi should get the backup SF and PF minutes. Nance will get the bulk of the 5 minutes with Zizic getting some. Korver will get the backup SG minutes. Clarksons role stays the same. I think everyone but LeBron's minutes increase.

Cedi will need to guard Blake Griffin for stretches tonight, will be another good test for the young fella. He continues to play sound winning basketball and has been hitting open shots and defending well.

I look for him to make an impact to close out the season in whatever capacity he is used. He has been our 3rd most consistent player on the year behind LeBron and Kevin.

Korver can play PF against Tolliver. But yeah, it is something to consider, but staggering player she minutes is the better option imo.

Cedi should start and guard Johnson to start the game.Sub out early for any wing player you think fits...Then you just sub him back in as a PF when Lebron goes to the bench.

But in my opinion Korver can definitely guard stretch 4s like Tolliver. Korver is a big guy.

yes I agree our defense has been amazing since the ASB with Cedi starting .

I mostly agree. Hood is the better player *for now* and I think with Nance starting we will need Cedi's defense with the bench.

However, I do NOT think his minutes should be reduced, and I think his excellent 3D play will still have him finishing many games.

Korver is like 100 years old , he ain’t chasing down stretch 3’s all game . Just because he’s bigger doesn’t mean much when you factor in how slow he is .

Why not start Cedi and bench JR?
Why not develop two young players in the starting lineup at the same time , so they can develop chemistry together?
This isn't a Hood vs Cedi decision, it's a Cedi vs JR., and once again our wondrous coach makes the decision to de-prioritize developing our promising rookie, in favor of appeasing the ego of a player who is clearly on the downward slope of his career.

I agree , I don’t believe his minutes should be reduced . Heck he is only averaging like 20 per game as it is .

Now Tolliver is quick and fast? He is 32 and the kind of player that Spots up, and not a player that comes off screens.

Korver played as a 2/3. He can definitely guard a Tolliver on the perimeter lol.

He might seem slow to you, but he has been our second best perimeter defender this season after Cedi. Lebron and Jr have been worse.

Don't trust your eyes.
