yes I agree our defense has been amazing since the ASB with Cedi starting .

Sigh.

It's on TT and Jr. Has nothing to do with Cedi.

The whole point of inserting Nance into the starting lineup is patch up the defensive holes and make the starting lineup more complete. But then you take out your best perimeter defender and insert another net negative defender in Hood while still keeping defensive sieve Jr in the lineup? So what are we doing?

We don't need s good defender on the bench. Who cares about good defense off the bench in the playoffs anyways? Jr shouldn't be in the starting lineup and I have more reasons to bring Hood off the bench than to make him a starter.(hasn't been good as a starter in Utah and isn't the best defender). I do think that Hood needs more minutes and to come in earlier.

Every contender has a stabilizer in their starting lineup. Cedi is our stabilizer. Lue is an idiot for not using him earlier to establish a decent role.

Korver can play PF against Tolliver. But yeah, it is something to consider, but staggering player she minutes is the better option imo.

Cedi should start and guard Johnson to start the game.Sub out early for any wing player you think fits...Then you just sub him back in as a PF when Lebron goes to the bench.

But in my opinion Korver can definitely guard stretch 4s like Tolliver. Korver is a big guy.

I also think the reason they removed Cedi from the starting lineup is without TT there is no point in trying to keep that lineup intact. I think that starting unit was there so George Hill could get comfortable with TT, LeBron, and JR so they could slot in Love to a comfortable situation.

At this point, they need to find working lineups and worry about Love when he comes back. Cedi's role was going to be off the bench when Love came back. It's basically the same thinking that left Green with the bench unit. This gives Nance a chance to take hold of the starting spot and Hood could also prove he deserves to start over JR. Neither the starting lineup or the bench unit was working.

I think the bench was working though? I'm pretty sure hey had positive plus minus almost every game. They just got limited minutes... all of them.

I don't think it was working well enough that the coaching staff wouldn't mess with it. Hood's production has gone down from his numbers in Utah, Clarkson wasn't looking enough to get him involved.

I still think the bench needs to be lead by both Clarkson and Hill while LeBron is on the bench. There are times Clarkson needs the ball taken out of his hands to keep from multiple bad possessions.

I like Cedi as much as the next guy but him coming off the bench means little to me. We're so fked up that the TT/Nance swap may not be enough. We need to mix things up. I'm still figuring another loss tonight because nobody wants to be the team that can't beat the Cavs.

Detroit also desperately needs this win if they want any chance of making the playoffs.

As I mentioned during the ASB , Cedi will be phased out and slowly worked down to 9-10 man off the bench role. Hood starting tonight in his place . Go move imo
This guy knew what he talking about . Cedi on the bench worked perfect tonight . Good call dude .

Yeah, Jr and Hood in the starting lineup made the difference, not Nance and Lebron playing more aggressive.

You are such a genius.

Despite Nance and Lebron our starting lineup started off bad and were down early... so our starters weren't good like you make it seem.

Cedi looked confused tonight playing with the bench, he had no idea what to do... so it didn't work out for him either.

Has an off shooting night and made some bad passes ( some of that has to do with playing with different people) , and yet still finishes with 12-6-2 in 22 minutes, shooting 3/4 for 2 pt fg.

You're turning this into a simplistic either/or proposition.

I think it's perfectly fine to experiment with our rotations. Especially with so many new players. Cedi is such a good defender that he'll get playing time one way or another.

For now, it makes sense to start Hood. Should we do it long term? I don't know. I don't see a problem with trying some different things.

Either way, Cedi has proven himself and deserves big minutes. Let's just see what happens.

It's not about Hood here though, it's about JR and Hood together.. and JR has no case over Cedi and Hood.

Hood looked better with the bench tonight and he clearly has much more to contribute than JR.

It's not a tough decision, it's just tough to follow through with the action. You know how much Lue cares about his relationship with his players and quite frankly it's quite risky for the locker room.

Cedi better learn quick how to play off the bench or he will get buried once Love And Green are back . 5 TO off the bench in just 22 min is unexceptable

I'm not so worried about starting vs. bench. I think it's more of a game to game adjustment.

I'm perfectly fine with JR starting, but Lue has to greatly reduce his minutes in favor of Cedi/Hood IF he's not producing. IF JR is producing in a given night, then play him his normal starters minutes.

A good coach could balance this all better.
