It's shame to see cedi s shot regress. He has some serious flaws that I don't think will ever be corrected so I just hope he improves to a decent level but think his offensive ceiling is lower than most realise

His shot wasn't so bad in Europe. He will get better with time. He is a smart guy which impacts the game in a positive way despite his stats. Thats why im not really worried about his offense. He is a versatile guy, he will be fine.

He sometimes misses open 3s but the dude is hitting 40% from 3 and almost 60% from 2. That just doesn't seem like a "seriously flawed" shot to me, and even if he has some kinks to iron out it doesn't seem like a low ceiling on shooting ability.

The only thing he needs is more minutes and a coach that knows how to develop young players. I can't imagine the Spurs having this guy to see where his progress might be. I was high on him before the season but he's exceeded my expectations. His offense is fine for a rookie, kid has a lot of tools in his arsenal that once he harnesses he will be a plus offense player. I don't see the flaws that you do, I look at the numbers referenced above and I couldn't be happier at this time.

I would agree with this if he hadn't also shown his strong ability to finish around the basket. Cedi is not primarily a jump shooter, but has proven to be more than capable of knocking down open jumpers.

He's a decent ball handler and passer for his size/position, and he finishes well around the rim. Being able to hit corner 3s at a strong clip is just gravy. I don't think he's a guy you run your offense through, but he can easily be a 10-15 points per game player as he matures. To go with his excellent defensive talent, I think that's pretty good.

He, like a lot of this roster, is a very nice piece to have around LeBron going forward.

Considering he showed regular yearly progression in his shot overseas, and then came over to a new league and already is having success, I feel confident he will continue to become a better shooter every year. That’s just who he is. He puts the work in and gets better.

There’s a reason this clumsy ass kid went from raw energy roleplayer to on-ball offensive focal point for Turkey in the most recent Eurobasket. He just gets better. That’s what he does.

Hitting 40% of your 3s in the NBA on a reasonable sample size is HARD. I don't care if they are corner 3s or how the other team is defending you. Very few players do it. You can't say someone is a bad shooter if they pull that off.

Osman reminds me a little of Delly in terms of his long distance shooting. Delly's threes didn't look great, he had a little hitch and it took him too long to get them off, but he was really pretty accurate. In the early years with Lebron you could say that's because he was being left open, but he's also hitting 37% with the Bucks now. Of course Cedi is far more skilled than Delly in terms of his all around scoring abilities.

One area where Cedi could improve is in terms of getting respect from the refs. He is getting only 2 free throw attempts per 36, but getting whistled for 4.4 fouls/36. Basically, whenever there is contact they call it on him. If he can learn how NBA refs function while keeping all of his defensive aggressiveness, that right there will be a major improvement.

Once he irons out some rookie kinks and gets fully comfortable Cedi is already just about what we thought we were getting with Crowder -- an aggressive, physical defender who can hit open threes and score opportunistically. And that is as a rookie. I see him as a solid backup for Lebron and solid role player going forward.

Cedi is a much better shooter and natural offensive player than Delly. The size and athleticism certainly helps. The energy is infectious and that is a similarity but Osman has a way better pedigree than Delly.

I actually think relegating Cedi to a backup role player is basically his floor at this point. He’s got a legit handle, he can shoot off the dribble, get to the rim in isolation, finish at the rim in traffic, play pick and roll, find open cutters and shooters in basic action.

Going back to Eurobasket before the season, Cedi was the star of that Turkey team. He was scoring 20+ with ease in the flow of the game, while facing defensive traps and doubles as well as filling up the box score. He really flashed some real Turkogluesque stuff I thought.

I think he has a really high ceiling for a 2nd rounder. Also reminds me a bit of Sasha Pavlovic except with a motor, work ethic and willingness to shower which would have made Sasha a damn good player.

His turnovers last night were quite impressive...channeling his inner LBJ on those bullets to the crowd.

It's humorous for anybody to be cracking on or giving up on Cedi. The kid is in his first year in the NBA coming over from Europe of all places. Everyone knows European ball is not as good as over here in the states. Plus remember, the kid is still a kid. He's 22 YEARS OLD!!! Damn give the kid a break. It's like many have stated, he's shooting 40% from 3 point land. That doesn't suck at all. He's also a very good defender. Tough crowd for sure. He will keep getting better as well.

Cedi is shooting really well. There is no reason to be anything but bullish on him. He is way better than I would have expected already.

I thought he looked great with the 2nd unit and guys were actually looking for him while he is generally ignored by the starters

I too like Cedi and I'd play him as much as possible but I don't see it mattering if he starts or is off the bench. I don't think he's a head case like say JR where he feels he needs to start. Cedi appears to be of sound mind. He'll get his.
Someone mentioned that Cedi is what we hoped Crowder would be; he's far better now and will still improve much more than Chowder ever will. Chowder will be out of the league like IT within a few years.
