Goodbye Larry Nance Jr.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Good game, but could have been better. He gives his all, and when he doesn't have gas left in the tank it's tough for him to hang against legit Centers on the defensive end.

Does anyone have a clue what happened to his screen and roll technique? Seriously, am I the only one that notices the difference since before the ASB and now?

This causes him to not be as available on the Rolls and it doesn't create enough separation for the ball handler.

Zizic had a couple of easy layups as a roller...Nance should have feasted doing the same against Jokic, but he just didn't force Jokic to step out on the perimeter... just camped all day against him.
but could have been better? what else do you expect from him? ya'll just gotta find ways to critique..

I like his energy off the bench.

Jokic was owning everyone. Including Zizic and LBJ. Nance played phenomenal. He just got winded.
Jokic is a top player and will always outclass a player like Nance, just like LeBron will outclass Jokic. It happens. Nance was great and deserves no criticism because his effort was 110%. Sir Dom needs to relax with his 'but' stuff.

Nance was owning him in he beginning of the game, but was just fatigued in the second half. He was pushed around and Jokic just shot over him, where's in the first half Nance was just picking his pocket.

He didn't need own Zizic really. He made tough shots hat he just barely got over his outstretched arms. He couldn't gain ground on him posting up and had to settle for long mid range shots in which he was bailed several times by the refs.

Zizic was reffed very poorly, but in my opinion he was huge in both ends in his limited minutes. Still in very bad shape, but the guy seriously could be a high level starter soon.

In my option there is a case for him to start in a Zaza role just to save Nance. Zizic is already better than Zaza, so why not? I'm not sure Nance is big enough as a starter. I think it's super taxing for him to bang against starting centers for 36 minutes.

It's refreshing. I've found my new favorite player. And I'm trying to picture in my head if this what it would look like to have the old Larry Nance (Sr.) play with LeBron (I'm too young to remember those late 80s/early 90s teams)?

Whatever. It's a satisfying feeling. He reminds me of Varejao with his activity, with an automatic 12 foot jump-shot a-la Big Z (the old one), the nose for the ball like pre-Kardashian Thompson, and a super high IQ to boot.

And also... because we're so thin at the center position, he's forced to play out of place and in heavy duty minutes (37). Imagine how much of an impact he makes once we get Love back (and maybe light a fire under TT's ass). The possibilities are endless.

I do say a lot of but ah?

Once Love comes back its going to take a huge amount of pressure off of Nance. Right now Nance is really the only significant minutes big the cavs have, and it shows. By 20 minutes Nance is absolutely and completely gassed. Once Love comes back Nance can cut his minutes down to 30 a game plus he wont have to play balls to the wall which he has been doing.

You need to quit with the zizic/nance comparisons.

Youre starting to sound awfully biased. Zizic is showing potential, but stop talking about him in every nance post. Its getting old

lol never mind. I didn't criticize Nance. Those were observations.

It's positive observations. I don't really have any bad thing to say about any player really unless it's TT.

Didn't mean to sound negative at all though. It's the internet so...was just debating and asking some questions.

Nance Sr. was automatic from 16-18 ft (specifically from the baseline). He was also a better man defender. Jr. Is a better team defender and has vastly superior motor.
