The Walking Dead

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They did not renew his contract. This is a major shift from the comics. The entire Carl/Negan storyline is now shot. Hell he played a major role in the Whisperer War. So who knows what the plan is now.
The show is dead.

Last night's episode wasn't bad. I enjoyed it actually.

Knowing where they go in the comic with this war, I can still see them going the same route. In fact I think it's almost guaranteed.

Yeah I enjoyed last night’s episode. I think they may just use Enid as Carl going forward, minus the Negan interactions, which is a shame.

I think Enid's actually a better actor than is Carl, so that's a positive.

I thought it was a good episode as well - always interesting when they show the internal workings of Negan's side of things. Simon...dude is stressed-out big time.

Only think I didn't like was that Rick didn't call Negan on his shit when he started claiming this was all Rick's fault. Negan leads a bunch of thieves and murderers, and blames the victims for not liking it. It's flat-out ridiculous.

All Rick and Co, wanted to do was live in peace, farm their own crops, and trade peacefully with other people. Negan's the guy who introduced murder and extortion into the equation, and it would have been nice to hear Rick set him straight.

But still, a good episode.

Yeah, this is the first time I've actually looked forward to watch the next episode instead of watching it begrudgingly.

Damn, can't believe they offed the doctor like that. Dumb.

Are they finally setting up the Eugene backstab on Negan? Maybe Gabriel helps him somehow rig the ammo?

Pretty good episode again.

Seems like episodes that show more of the internal Savior workings always end up more interesting.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. Can't help but think we're in for a few eps of filler before the final conclusion of the All Out War storyline. That is coming this season, right? :chuckle:

Another good WD episode, although the slight "face" turn by Negan is not credible. I'm guessing the showrunners like to suggest some kind of moral equivalency between Negan and Rick. The similarities are in terms of tactics only. Why you fight says a fuckload more about you than how you fight.

I generally agree on this. We all know Rick is far more moral than Negan.

But what he did on this episode was extremely immoral and borderline unforgivable. He's really toeing the line.

I think they are just showing Negan is more of a three dimensional character than a lot of people would like to admit. I don't think he's good, but he isn't pure evil either. The whole reason he ambushed and killed people from Rick's group was because Rick had killed a whole bunch of his men already. Granted, we can argue Negan was already the aggressor (to Hilltop, and other groups) to all the groups they were subjugating, but the fact that Negan is so miffed about what Simon did even after the garbage heap people were like, quadruple agents? Says a lot about him that he still didn't want them all dead. He's misguided, for sure, though.

Do we agree that the person he picked up on the road is prolly the Savior chick that got away from Dwight?

I'm hoping we get a final conclusion to Negan and the Saviors. They have drag this out too long. They need to move on and explore the world more. It feels like they have been stuck in the same place way too long.

It was a massive storyline in the comics so I'm not surprised they've spent a couple seasons on it. But I assume it's coming to an end this season. I think?? I hope?

They do seem to be focusing on Rick alot more the last couple episodes. Maggie is getting less and less air time. We haven't met much of the Hill Top. I have a feeling the group will move on with or without Maggie and the Hill Top.

I agree. It was the equivalent of shooting some POW's while advancing on Berlin. But that still doesn't make you Hitler.

I still think that is pure evil -- he's just calculating/rational about it. If you don't give him half your stuff, he murders you. If he wants your wife, he'll threaten to kill you unless she submits. He actually enjoys beating people to death with a baseball bat.

There isn't a shred of gray in that.

Hadn't thought of that, but damn, that's a good guess.
