LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The irony being that his Cali home was the one vandalized with racial slurs.

I think if all other things equal, Dan’s politics could be a deciding factor. Don’t think it’s as big a deal as Sheriden made it. Maybe so though. James has put himself out there politically far more than many other NBA stars have.

I think Lebron is probably really torn right now.

On the one hand, the Cavs situation isn’t a layup right now. I mean the team is odds on going to be slightly to maybe a lot better. But you just don’t know.

The Cavs probably can’t get Paul George, cp 3, or kawhai which any of those would make Lebron staying a lay up.

They probably can get Kemba. But is that enough?

LA is in ROUGH shape. They can’t get kawhai right now.

They probably won’t land Paul George.

So Lebron is probably stuck playing with an even worse team out in LA.

Hate on Kevin Love, Tristan, George hill and the rest of the gang but it’s a better crew than the Lakers-add kemba to the Cavs and it’s a no brainer superior team.

And then you have philly-which is an interesting scenario. But you have a guy in Embid who probably won’t jive with Lebron. Two different flavors of human being. They’re a better roster than the Cavs for sure-no doubt-100 percent better star power-but I just can’t see embid and Lebron jiving.

The other big issue for Philly. Is that in order to acquire Lebron they have to renounce all of their good shooters...

Redick-Lebron-embid-Simmons could probably beat the warriors. But how can they keep redick and get Lebron?

I am thinking Lebron comes back for a year and joins Leonard and George in la the following year

It totally make sense to go that route..

I think it does but then he will be 35. Father Time never loses. One more year of Lebron would be perfect. More than that is dicey. Just don’t trade Sexton for kemba.

They can keep Redick if they trade for LeBron, so they'd have to give up assets. Draft picks and young talent. If they do that, they don't have to renounce Redick and can go above the cap to re-sign him. They also could maintain their full MLE and the Bi-Annual Exception. IF they sign him, they have to clear $10M in space, renounce Redick, and only have the very tiny space exception.

I guess we are misunderstanding each other and I worded things incorrectly. My point being is that it is extremely sad that our country has come to the point where an individual wants to bounce because the owner of a company met with the President...whether it would have been 5 years ago and Obama or now with Trump.
And here’s the fallacy.

You’re falling for BS click bait shit from Chris Sheridan.

If LeBron leaves it has nothing to do with Dan Gilbert’s “politics”, which aren’t even clearly defined as historically he has given money to both parties. He is in the business of economic development of two major cities. It is in his best interest to be cozy with BOTH parties but as it so happens, one party is currently in the WH, so having some sort of dialogue there is important to his dealings in both DET and CLE

Josh Harris, the owner of the 76ers, for example is much closer and much more directly linked to the current president and yet there are no stories of Embiid or Simmons trying to get out of Philly. Nor are there stories of LeBron being unwilling to go to PHI in FA because of that connection between their owner and the current president.

The reason? Because that Sheridan report is pure BS clickbait designed to prey on people who get worked up about that kind of stuff.

This would be a disaster for the Cavs. I would rather him go now than to waste time in Cleveland.

I agree as long as Cavs can't make any substantial improvement. Otherwise it's just another year of the same

I think there are 2 topics here with Sheridan. Whether his sources are good or not? and whether him potentially leaving is tied to Gilbert and politics. I agree that the politics thing seems secondary and don't think it would be the core reason. I do think playing "for" Magic over Dan would be a positive for him but that's it. In terms of Sheridan and it all being BS and click bait. I disagree. Already said it in past post but he was on it last time and maybe as well as anyone and for that reason it makes me nervous. Obviously just me though.

I just don't buy the claims that he's definitely leaving. To go anywhere I feel Lebron needs to be really fucking confident that wherever he's going to will beat the Warriors and a lot of dominos need to fall for that to happen. Makes no sense to go somewhere else and lose to the Warriors in the finals - he can do that here without losing the opportunity to re-evaluate the landscape of the NBA next offseason.

Most logical scenario to me would be a 1 year deal with the Cavs and he'll re-evaluate next offseason. If he goes to LA - feels like they'll just lose in the WCF instead of the Finals.

Here he could lose to Kyrie in the ECF.

He will do what is best for him. Not the Cavs. That is why we should not include Sexton for lbj for one year. Force his hand for once
