LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Back to the convo of whether LeBron comes back to Cleveland or not.

I'd take him back for a year so long as he would allow us the ability to make one more run and then just be honest about it.

But I would only do it knowing that the organization and james have a "wink-wink" plan in place following his exit. I don't feel that sort of thing is unfair for either party really.

That's really what I want out of this. Some young prospects and the ability to start over when that nuclear bomb of a move hits.

Tell me, how great did it feel to abuse some of the most vulnerable people in society?

Also, how sad are you that you quit before you help run a
concentration "tender age" camp?

CUT. THE. SHIT.

This IS NOT the politics forum. This conversation IS NOT in anyway related to LeBron, Cavs basketball, or even the NBA in general.

DROP. IT.

Hate to say it, but I think this has to be the summer he shits or gets off the pot. With that pick next year being top-10 protected, the Cavs can't really afford for LeBron to commit to only one year then leave.

Id honestly want the Cavs and LeBron to move on if the plan was to try again one more time before he leaves. Another year of where LeBron is going would become old quick. Either take the max so the Cavs can try and make some moves or let us bottom out and rebuild.

i would take one more year of competing for a title in a second. Especially with potentially 7-8 players on the active roster 26 and under this time around.
There are a lot of delusional people around here who think that just because we have LeBron, we're in contention for a title.

Newsflash: we're not. That was true at one point, before this GS monstrosity was created and Kyrie wanted out. Most of us want LeBron back, but a lot of us also feel that we're just prolonging the inevitable.

The hard, clinical truth is that with or without LeBron we're a treadmill team just like 28 other ones. I want LeBron to continue making history as a Cav but let's be honest with ourselves, our only real hope is to brace for the future.

I agree....one year deal does no good for anyone involved....either you want to be here or not...own it

You haven't been around long enough. Those of us that were here during the rebuilding years had a great time.

We don't need you to tell us what to brace for.

I'm looking forward to both. More LBJ would be great, but watching a rebuilding team without expectations would be a nice change of pace.

I'm cool with whatever happens.

How many years (in theory) does LeBron have?

Because this next deal, if he signs for the max, for multiple years could very well be his last.

it's not to say that if say, 4 years from now he knocks at the door to go "I want to retire here" that the Cavs wouldn't take him back out of loyalty. But...that's really what is being asked here.

We're pretty much asking if he'd prefer to retire a Cavalier or a Laker at this point. (76er, Rocket could also be substituted)

Cavs I think were 5 games out of the 8th seed before LBJ came back, I'll let you guys look up that roster:chuckle:. It was a tough rebuild, but we were slowly seeing the rebuild come together.

I want LeBron to stay and retire a Cav, but like Jmoney said, we can't delay the inevitable if there is doubt on either side.

I actually think if LeBron comes back or commits for a couple years, our pick becomes worth alot less to Atlanta. They probably would give it back to us to take Bazemore off their hands.

I feel as if this is a win-win situation for the Cavs. On one hand, Lebron staying means were competing for a championship or at the very least for the eastern conference. Some luck, injuries to the Warriors, and Lebron going superhuman gives us another chance at a title. Getting to watch the best basketball player on the planet play on your team is a priviledge.

On the other hand, the Cavs rebuild with Cedi, Nance, Sexton, Big Z, and whoever they pick in 2019. A firesale of all veterans would add to this collection of assets. It's definitely the more frustrating and time consuming route, but it should be more enjoyable than the last rebuild. There won't be a battle of egos like with Kyrie and Dion or questionable effort on defense from the current group of young guys.

In a consistently underperforming eastern conference, the Cavs could have a similar turnaround as the Pacers. Instead of returning to the playoffs right after losing their best player, it would probably be another year before they make a playoff push. Lue more than likely doesn't survive a rebuild so that's always a plus.
