LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Trading Love for Melo was intriguing last year simply because many thought that playing on a contender would bring out Olympics Melo.

But, now that he's proven himself to be a petty bitch who won't do what's best for a team to win championships, there's no way in hell I'd trade Love for Melo.

Melo has always been a petty bitch. Never understood the fetish some had with wanting to acquire him. Don't want him anywhere near this team, for any reason. Including to play buddy-ball with LBJ.

Im pretty sure if you sign and trade LeBron, it wouldn't be for the max. He'd have to do what CP3 did(opt in, trade, wink wink agreement for the max). If he did it this year, it would be 4 years instead of 5, and less raises.

If it comes down to a sign and trade, Im not taking back Deng unless Im getting Ingram.

How about Clarkson and JR straight up for Melo? As a last ditch option that keeps LeBron here. I'm not saying you take it over any other star and if they ask for asset you hang up on them.
I literally would not take Melo for free, on a vet minimum contract.

It would be worse than Wade was for us, and Wade was bad enough that we gave him away when we badly needed him to run our second unit.

Some here are saying we Might as well shut down the franchise if LBJ leaves
Love the 4 finals trips, love the Trophy but has it really been all that fun. Regular seasons have been lifeless and joyless, especially last season.

It looks like he is either leaving for good or going to have to 'park" himself here for one more year even though he rather not.

I do not see anything to suggest he wants to be here. The organization was a cluster f$%^ last year, no doubt about it.

I honestly think its time he left. He wants to wander the desert, surround himself with other superstars and chase rings. He might win 1-2, doubtful but might, but the last ones will be "Durant like"

if he comes back it will because there not any other options this year and his son can finish middle school.
That is fine but I would not trade Sexton or any other young talent for a Kemba Walker for one year

One thing they should do is take a flyer and lock up Preston. He was a 5 star high school recruit just a year ago. If he played at KU he probably would have been a top ten pick this year. He fell into our lap, lock him up
Plus, the constant fear of him leaving hanging over us for what, 11 seasons of Lebron? I love his play and what hes done for the Cavs on the court, but the constant drama is old. I keep going back to him playing all those minutes of every game, i knew then what the narrative would be. " i gave ne ohio everything i had, but its time for me and my family to move on".

This is why I won't be mad if he leaves. The only way he leaves is if we are getting something of value in return.

Otherwise, he won't be going to any team with championship potential.

That said, I hope he stays here until he retires.

I agree. I don't want anymore of Lebron's buddies short of Chris Paul which will never happen here.

I don't want team chemistry killers like Melo, Dwight Howard, etc..,

If LeBron is set in stone in leaving, this is what I hope happens.

LeBron + JR for Kuzma, Ball, Ingram, Deng, Frye and a future 1st.

Deng and Frye to make salary work, both are expirings. Deng hopefully is bought out but I’d love to have Frye mentor our youth.

PG - Lonzo
SG - Cedi
SF - Ingram
PF - Kuzma
C - Love

Bench

G - Sexton
G - Clarkson
G - Korver
G - Hill
G - Hood
F - Nance
F - Frye
F - Tristan
F - Preston
C - Zizic

At dead line you ship out Hill, Tristan, Clarkson, and maybe even Love to contenders willing to trade young pieces and 1st rounders.

All a huge long shot, I know. But if LeBron is going to leave, he has the ability to at least jump start our rebuild drastically by doing a sign and trade

Fryes a FA, but agreed this would be great.

I'm really dumbfounded with all these sign and trade posts where we get every Laker asset back in return. Why would the Lakers, and LeBron for that matter move every asset they have when LeBron can just sign with the Lakers outright? Come on now. If LeBron doesn't want to play with Kuzma and Ingram, then those players would be dealt to another team for another star.

And it's not like it was that long ago, the last time we did a sign and trade with LeBron. Remember what that got us in return? A couple near dead last 1st round picks, and a few seconds. That was a 26 year old LeBron.

My fault, I thought he had one more year. Just noticed Deng has TWO years left on his deal, holy shit. Lakers would have to give us those young pieces and AT LEAST 1 future 1st if not 2 to get rid of his hideous contract.

Because they don’t have room for 2 max’s Unless they shed Deng’s god awful contract.

You really think it would be hard for them to send that contract to a bottom feeding team, while attaching a pick with it? Do that or trade your best assets when you don't have too, hmmm...

So if Koby comes to LeBron and says we basically have no options to get us another star. The Hornets arent giving up Kemba at the moment. The only thing we have is Melo for Clarkson and JR. If LeBron says ok that's fine with me, you wouldn't pull the trigger on that? You let LeBron walk instead of giving up that package for a flyer on Melo?

Well of course, if that's what Bron wanted. That's actually not a bad deal for the Cavs. Melo is a massive expiring at $27M.

If Deandre Jordan opts-in to his deal, I'd also explore a trade for him. TT + Zizic + Korver + 2021 1st (lottery protected). That would give us another massive expiring at $24M

Expirings:
Hill - $19M
Melo - $27M
DAJ - $24M
Total - $70M

We should have $40M + to sign a max FA next summer and enough to make a good run this year. Basically pitch LBJ on one more year of retooling.

No team in the league takes that pick for just 1 first rounder... none. That’s the worst contract in the NBA and a player who can’t even play once you acquire him. You’re essentially paying $36 million for ONE first round pick near the end of the first round. That’ll never happen. Ever.

If a player or two isn’t attached to Deng along with a pick or two, he’s going nowhere. Name one team that would take on 2 years of his contract for 1 1st round pick?
