LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That would never happen. Melo bitched about his role last year and he was a starter, can you imagine if he came off the bench?

Yeah I know. He is just not able to defend starters anymore. He can't give that kind of effort.

Melo for me has always been a disappointment. I mean he came in with a very similar build to Lebron and he has just gotten puffier while LEbron has sculpted the best body ever. His high end athleticism was never as good, but he could have been better. There is a just a laziness to the way he didn't work on his game. I dunno. Now as his body falls off he has so little to offer.

I like your ideas on Melo. ISO is his game and we play plenty of it. Melo is on a massive decline but I'll tell ya, he's still a better player than Clarkson & JR at the moment.

Why not DAJ, sure we give up some assets but we get an asset ($24M expiring) in return. Plus the deal I proposed gets us out of TT's deal, allowing us to be a player in next year's Free Agency. We could have room enough to sign a max free agent wing.

Klay Thompson
Jimmy Butler *most likely
Paul George
Kawhi

Next year we could be looking at...

Sexton
Butler
Bron
Love
Nance

Im not completely against DeAndre but I'd rather keep the assets available if any of the guys you listed above come available during the season. If it's clear none of them will come available by the deadline, DeAndre could be a nice fall back plan.

If Melo would embrace a bench role, and we could get him for TT and Clarkson, I think you'd at least have to consider it. Just in terms of clearing out cap space, along with the possible chancs he actually learns his role,he would be a plus if LeBron is still here.

I agree I don't think Melo as a bench guy is an option. Start Hill/Sexton at PG, LeBron at SG, Melo at SF, Love at PF, and TT/Nance at center. No one has earn the right to start at SG at the moment. It puts less wear and tear on Lebron if he plays SG especially if Hill or Sexton can hold down the duties of being the on ball defender.

Hill, Love, and/or Sexton will most likely be in any trade to better this team so we can reevaluate the starting lineup when we get better pieces during the season.

I'd rather trade them for ANYTHING else.

Clarkson had such a good stretch after the allstar break. He was looking like the best thing from the trade when Larry was out. Him missing all those shots in the playoffs, I have to admit, I have rarely seen a player fall off so hard once the lights go on.

Someone needs to work with this kid if we keep him into playing smarter. He would be a good drive and kick guy, but he never kicks. Such a shame. Clarkson also finishes pretty well, but he always takes the pull up and hardly ever gets to the hoop despite his athleticism.

I know he is dumb. It is very frustrating.

Cleveland Cavaliers get: Kawhi Leonard
San Antonio Spurs get: George Hill, draft rights to Collin Sexton, 2021 first-round pick

If the Spurs are serious about keeping LeBron from going to LA why not try to keep LeBron and Kawhi in the east.

I think spurs want to kee Kwahi as primary.

Secondary is keeping him away from the lakers. Maybe as the season progresses they may choose that route that you’re saying, but I don’t think they have that mindset right now.

Think they would talk to Philly first before taking anything we offer honestly. It really just depends on how much risk teams are willing to take. Remember last year Paul George was telling everyone he's going to the Lakers, now he might resign in OKC.

Just random FYI cause I saw Butler's name mentioned:

Jimmy Butler will be a Celtic after this year. I would bet any amount of money on it. He is best friends with Kyrie and they could get him.

Is Kyrie a lock to stay with the Celtics? If Tatum plays like he did in the playoffs, I bet Kyrie looks to get on a team where he will be the man. Maybe Butler follows.
