LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm really dumbfounded with all these sign and trade posts where we get every Laker asset back in return. Why would the Lakers, and LeBron for that matter move every asset they have when LeBron can just sign with the Lakers outright? Come on now. If LeBron doesn't want to play with Kuzma and Ingram, then those players would be dealt to another team for another star.

And it's not like it was that long ago, the last time we did a sign and trade with LeBron. Remember what that got us in return? A couple near dead last 1st round picks, and a few seconds. That was a 26 year old LeBron.

I agree, I don't think we'll get their best assets back in return, but we will get SOMETHING.

That said, I can't help but wonder if you're a Lakers fan. Since it's practically the only thing you write about.

Yeah LBJ going to LA without superstars isn’t happening. But PG13 staying in OKC doesn’t feel likely to me.
The only thing I worry about the LA thing is actually Boston.

Does LeBron fear losing to Kyrie and Boston and then bailing out west. That would be a really bad look for LeBron. Leaving now actually avoids that even if it results in a 1st or 2nd round exit in the west with a young team.

Strengthening Boston was such a horrible decision.

Well of course, if that's what Bron wanted. That's actually not a bad deal for the Cavs. Melo is a massive expiring at $27M.

If Deandre Jordan opts-in to his deal, I'd also explore a trade for him. TT + Zizic + Korver + 2021 1st (lottery protected). That would give us another massive expiring at $24M

Expirings:
Hill - $19M
Melo - $27M
DAJ - $24M
Total - $70M

We should have $40M + to sign a max FA next summer and enough to make a good run this year. Basically pitch LBJ on one more year of retooling.

That's VERY interesting from cap perspective, but I think I would hate watching that team play.

This is yet another reason why I think he stays. He HATES Boston, and he'd be handing Kyrie a trip to the finals.

I'm curious to see if Love goes with LeBron to LA. Completely clears the books for a rebuild in Cleveland, and for LBJ, he has instant chemistry when arriving.

I would want pretty much all their young assets and draft picks for years for that.

Baseless speculation is unreadable for me. Face it, everything is in limbo for a few days and nobody knows anything. Lots of different things may or may not happen. Good time to take a break.

I'm not sure if I go for DeAndre because we give up assets. My main thinking with getting Melo is it buys Koby time to make other deals and wait for proper guys to come on the market. Kawhi or Butler might come on to the market during the season. If we have to bare a year of Melo to keep LeBron, I'm all for it.

I think Melo has a better chance to work out here. He can play SF instead of PF since we have Love. Lue and LeBron won't mind Melo getting his touches and ISOing to let LeBron take in game rest. OKC wanted Melo to be a stretch 4 and a 3rd option. We can use Melo as a second option until Sexton is ready or we make a trade for a better 2nd option. Love goes back to a 3rd option and less pressure on him.

If it doesn't work out, I can't see Melo holding to his no trade clause especially if we bring a team who will immediately buy him out. LeBron and Melo have been friends for a long time, he isn't going to get in the way of helping to put a better team around LeBron.

might as well bring wade and rose back. This is the same stuff we always to with lebron, bring in these guys who are washed up to placate him.
Cavs need to just stand their ground and say we are going to be younger, more athletic.
The Melo's of the world will not win us championship and would not be the kind of player I want the youth to see and be around

give me Kuzma and Ingram and I would be thrilled, maybe a first round thrown in if you can get it

throw those two in with cedi, zizic, nance, sexton, hood and all of that money off the books

Move JR for ......anything and that is a fun team to watch and a quicker rebuild

Plus we got Preston, mathias and Bonzi at the d league...who knows might get lucky on one

Really? Glad you keep track of my posts so well. Yes, my last few posts that have the word Lakers in it makes me a die hard Lakers fan. You figured me out...

I wish the Cavs were in a position to stand their ground. I just think we have to make a move to keep him. I don't think it hurts the youth movement, it would open up another roster spot and I'm not sure how much playing time any rookie will get outside of Sexton.

I'd only take Melo if he agreed to come off the bench like Wade did. I doubt he wants that.

I like your ideas on Melo. ISO is his game and we play plenty of it. Melo is on a massive decline but I'll tell ya, he's still a better player than Clarkson & JR at the moment.

Why not DAJ, sure we give up some assets but we get an asset ($24M expiring) in return. Plus the deal I proposed gets us out of TT's deal, allowing us to be a player in next year's Free Agency. We could have room enough to sign a max free agent wing.

Klay Thompson
Jimmy Butler *most likely
Paul George
Kawhi

Next year we could be looking at...

Sexton
Butler
Bron
Love
Nance
