The girl ain't even prettier

She is to LeBron, as he’s valuing weather, lifestyle, & opportunities outside of basketball. Every year LeBron was with the Cavs, the ‘elephant in the room’ was if he was going to return or not. It will be nice to not have that cloud hanging over the franchise for once.

Read somewhere that Mitchell’s finishing changes when Utah got him to start jumping off 1 leg. He was a 2 foot jumper in college and Utah helped him develop out of it. So that was a big part of improving his finishing

Utah has a coach who knows how to deal and develop young guys. Snyder is a great coach! He formed this playoff team.

FG% on drives, min 10 drives per game:

Indeed, we're spoiled by LeBron. No other player shot better than 60% on drives, and few shot better than 50%. If Sexton shoots in the 43-46% range as a rookie that would probably be par for the course, anything better would be extremely promising. Of course, his AST%, TOV% and PF% are also worth keeping an eye on, as most point guards bolstered their overall efficiency on drives by performing well in those areas.

In the 5 year stretch for which we have data, no player who had more than 4+ drives per game has ever shot above 60% other than James (2014 and 2018) and Joe Harris this year (4.5 drives per game).

On really high volume (9+ drives per game), it’s James at 61.2% in 2014 and 60.3% this year. Next highest is JRue Holiday at 55.4% this year and Durant at 54.9% in 2014.

On 11+ drives per game:

2018 James, 60.3%
2017 James, 58.5%
2014 Tony Parker, 52.8%

The statistical difference between James and his drives versus everyone else and theirs is astronomical.

Sounds like it could be a very successful rookie year at this point. Similar to Westbrook, Wall, and Rose's rookie years, 15 points a game doesn't sound out of the realm of possibility. And if his floor game also improves with his desire for the game, 5 assists doesn't sound too bad either. And there's hardly any competition to get minutes at the point guard (you can count George Hill I guess, but the coaches sounded like they wanted the two to share minutes on the court.

The only thing that concerns me (and not just for this season) is the health issues that come with being a super-explosive athlete. If Colin can turn some of his dribble game into finesse (like creating angles going to the hoop) the way Kyrie has, it won't limit his abilities if (and when) the ankles, knees, etc. start acting up. I keep remembering what Derrick Rose did to his body the year after experiencing the greatest success (MVP). Having good health habits as well as a proper strategy for landing on the court has gone a long way for those types of athletes.

Hopefully I'm not worried too much yet. I'm really looking forward to what Colin does. Let's get through the next 2 months of nothing-going-on-in-NBA-life.

Collin Sexton sighting with his College Coach Avery Johnson. He's suited and booted in Cavs gear too, lol.

I just hope the Sexton starts this season. If Lue wants Sexton to really develop he needs to get major minutes.

Do you think Lue will be on a short leash this year? I am thinking his inadequacies as a coach will really shine through without Lebron taking over and winning for him.

I could see him not playing Sexton or Cedi, and if that happens im turning the Cavs off until they get a new coach.

Over/under for how many games until AC refers to Sexton as "Sexy"?

I think he certainly will — accidentally — and it’ll be funnier than bestowing the nickname on him:

That’s a hard over/under though; I can’t remember f he called Thompson “Trisschin” immediately or slightly after his arrival.

Yeah A.C is a funny and old school dude :biggrinthumb:

Underneath the unorthodox color commentary, there is a High BBIQ and a wealth of knowledge on how to play the game.

A.C Played well before my time but I'm trying to find more footage of him on the Cavs. Although it seems to be slim pickings as far as footage goes I did find this: https://youtu.be/ULXHcoutilw
