Tristan Thompson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don’t know. He was a constant malcontent on the team that plucked him from obscurity and made him extraordinarily wealthy, all while living in Miami. He gave Spoelstra no respect when Riley and ownership has Spoelstra’s back. I simply can’t imagine him not being a total train wreck here. He’s certainly the most talented player in that trade, but we wouldn’t contend anyway, and I would sure enjoy a season of high-character no drama basketball.

I truly can’t see him being a positive influence on any of the young guys, and quite possibly, a locker room cancer. Right now, we have the makings of a nice locker room that fosters development by young guys. I realize it takes talent to win in the NBA, but he won’t attract any, and isn’t enough on his own, and could generally detract from even enjoying a young developing team.

25 million salary for a 29 year old center who is basically one year rental.

No Thanks.

for as much people complain about Thompsons contract. Tristan only represents 15% of the cap.
Of course you wouldn't do it lol...:chuckle:

I love the trade.

Too soon for a Whiteside safari @PIP ? ;)

Best route to trade TT is to play him and for Nance to continue to grow as a player. Nance and Zizic having strong seasons off the bench would put the Cavs in a better negotiating position for TT.

Really unless Whiteside came with someone like Dion Waiters and included Hill or Smith

teams don't respect Tristan on the offensive end and will play off of him to make it harder on the others. He can't pass or shoot, so without LeBron here to make him look good it's gonna be hard to raise Tristan's stock. I want this team to stay steer clear of one trick ponies for now. Our number player right now is Love, and he needs people around him that can move the ball.

I don’t believe that source for a second. But even if it was legit whiteside is a moron. If you can’t get your act together with the heat then you’re a lost cause. He was great until he got paid and then went right back to the bullshit that kept him from sticking with a team.

If this is on the table, then why isn't it done already!? Highway robbery on our end. We dump 2 LBJ dependent players for a $25M expiring 2-way center to pair with KL.

Koby better pull the trigger on that ASAP!!

Edit: I see next yr is PO. But still ...Whiteside is high risk, high reward. We don't have much to lose in this scenario
