2018-2019 Around The NBA thread

The NBA has become even more rigged. Refs have such control over games. Endless phatom foul calls that are no longer even being argued makes them have control over the outcome of the game on every possession without any consequence on their part. Whichever team they want to push for victory will be pushed.

You will see players that had struggled until season, suddenly come out of nowhere and look very good. Especially the quicker ones. The increased foul rate will make shooting at the rim that much more efficient. Maybe they want to balance the game a bit, but it's disgusting because it's unnatural. I'd like to see some defense and good players struggle some times...what's the fun otherwise? Everyone's a Harden it looks like...there will be a lot of manufactured stars that their stats will becoem heavily inflated. Heck, every scrubs numbers will become inflated.

You wanna speed up the game? the increased FTs do not speed up the game.

NBA, chill the fuck down.

After Jamychal Greens injury it seems like Jaren Jackson is going to be getting the starter spot. Worth looking into if you're doing fantasy league, he seems like his offense has transitioned far better than I expected it would.

A few thoughts so far...

1) Charlotte needed a coaching change. Kemba is playing like a bat out of hell and I think the Hornets may end up a playoff team.

2) People who thought the Pacers were going to regress were dead wrong. Oladipo is a legitimate star and the rest of that team is young and improving. It would not surprise me if they make noise in the East circa playoff time.

3) The Lakers' four young guys (Ball, Hart, Ingram, and Kuzma) play really hard and are all becoming (or already are) positive defenders. They're very good players to have both because of their potential and trade value. Nonetheless, the lack of three-point shooting really limits LeBron. It makes him look slower and expend more energy on offense. I would keep an eye on them because, by the deadline, they may be desperate enough for three-point shooting that one of those four young guys becomes available.

Welcome to the JJJ bandwagon

She's some kind of stupid

He saw his teammate in a fight and joined, unlike Lebron who pulled CP3 away like a pussy.

Sucker punch or not I'd much rather lace them up with a guy who reacted like Ingram than a guy who reacted like Lebron. I don't care if you're buddy buddy with the guys on the other team, you side with your teammates in that kind of situation.

I think it was you and I and then I bailed at some point, no?

I think most people in the draft thread were very pretty high on Jackson and realized that Izzo kinda hampered his success last year. I don't remember there every being a lot of criticism towards him in general. He doesn't have the offensive ceilling of Ayton or Bagley in terms of creating with the ball in his hands but he is such an obvious good fit for a winning team and I'm starting to think he can be a good deal better on offense than I expected.

You sure about that? :chuckle:

lol, that's the thing! I had pretty much reserved myself to thinking that he would at his very best be an Al Horford level player on offense, and it was going to be a long shot for him to get there. But he looks faaaar more comfortable with the ball in his hands than I expected to this early. His age is showing, but good grief the potential is just ridiculous.
