#25: ATH, Jabrill Peppers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Tackling like that is also why he gave up a TD. Kids these days don't wrap up.
Looked to me like he was playing the ball on the TD instead of just hitting the guy like he did before. Considering it was 4th down, that was a mistake.

Man, the replies in the Jabrill thread have really slowed down.

Time change must have really gotten to a few of you guys.

I'm confused to what exactly I was wrong about?

Was I wrong that Jabbril had a poor year 1? No.

Was I wrong that he is doing better in his role this year as a platoon player? (65% of snaps on Sunday, while Denzel Ward got 100%.) No.

Was I wrong that he has been disappointing in the return game? No, he certainly hasn't been All-World like they said in the draft.

He is playing better on D than his dismal rookie year. I'm happy for him. Is he a full time player yet? Nope. Fourth rounder Kindred gets about 1/3 of the snaps. Nothing I have said has been wrong. But you refuse to see any flaws in this player for whatever reason. Demand excellence, not 4-12.

Guy is improving this year. Still has room to grow. Happy for him though.

Is Myles Garrett also a platoon player now? How about Larry Ogunjobi? Asking for equal criticism.

D-line rotates to stay fresh. Very physical position. First year watching football?

Lol, and the secondary positions aren't subject to fatigue? Well, the shit you learn about football on the daily...

Guys, stop attacking @Mr. Orange, it is no longer funny. It just detracts from the forum. We get it, he disagrees with pretty much everyone on Jabrill Peppers. He's allowed to do that.

I didn't attack squat. I responded to his attack, actually. Am I not allowed to point the hypocrisy out with this snap count goal post move?

Are offensive lines not physical? I don't really see them rotate.

Wasn’t necessarily referring to you... but everyone keeps baiting him, and I know a lot of us are tired of it, including Mr. O.

I just want the logic laid out by O, that's all. I feel like these are questions the poster should be able to answer. Especially if they're going to make an arrogant passive aggressive remark as if they've demonstrated some level of football knowledge around here.

But he's laid it out... over and over and over again. Listen, I disagree with him too, I don't think Jabrill playing 65% of snaps is meaningful. In fact, I think Peppers has been one of our most consistent defenders this season.

But we've had this debate... over and over again. It's tiresome.

Dude, I am going to stop responding to the trolling, but it's like you want me to admit I was wrong about something you have imagined. Yeah in the preseason I said Jabrill sucked, and he did in his rookie year (he admits this). Sure, I was skeptical he would succeed in the NFL (as were many during the draft), but he is now playing better, but he isn't without flaws (lost us a game against TB by fumbling in OT). Was I skeptical, yes, but at the end of the day I was consistent in saying that I hope he plays better. But again, he was shit as a rookie. He is pretty solid now, but still needs to improve.

Now, guys like Wentz, Baker, Ward, are all rare rookies (like Kyrie was). My August takes still hold up, as do my takes today. Why don't you just enjoy that he is playing better in year 2 than continue trolling and baiting me?
