Goodbye Larry Nance Jr.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hey, just go fuck yourself you negative cunt. How's that for waffling?
Priceless since you're the one putting down a Cavs player who's proven in the past he can shoot the ball.

I'll play Taps while awaiting your next appearance in this thread when he has a good game.

He had some nice dunks so got overhyped, I think he’s a decent passer and if he played with smarter gaurds who actually knew how to play offball and could cut he would be much more effective. The issue is he is not strong enough to play center and is not good enough as a shooter to play the 4 in today’s nba. He also doesn’t seem as athletic after his last injuries, unless he improves his shot I don’t see how he can really be effective in today’s nba unless he plays with a team full of high iq players which we definitely are not...

I agree he definitely needs to improve his 3pt shot. Without an improve shot, the front office will need to find a stretch 5 like Dewayne Dedmon to pair Nance with. He played well on defense as a PF last night.

As long as this team isn't winning, they need to give Nance the shot to try to become a stretch 4. He should get the bulk of his minutes at PF until Love is back and should at least take time as Love's backup when Love is healthy. Dekker might be a better stretch 4 right now but they didn't give an extension to Dekker like they gave Nance.

It's alot harder to get Nance alot of minutes if they don't develop him further. It's find a rare stretch 5 to pair him with or picking his matchups and minutes by swapping him with Zizic.

I like what Nance does well. He rebounds, he defends, he's a decent finisher and a real good passer. I just have serious doubts that he'll ever be able to knock down open jumpers at an acceptable rate in live NBA game action. I hope he proves me wrong.

Larry Nance Jr for THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

I could be dead wrong (and I hope that I am), but I’d trade Larry Nance. I think he’s peaked.

Again, I’d love to be wrong on this, but I think we’d be selling high to move him for assets at the deadline.

I think if keeps working on his 3 pt shot, he becomes a nice backup to Love who can also be paired with him for stretches. I think TT and Nance strengths are too overlapping to get the best out of both of them.

I think if we can get a stretch 5 in free agency or trade our group of bigs could be real interesting. Someone like Dewayne Dedmon. Love, Nance, Zizic, and Dedmon as our rotation.

Update: LARRY NANCE JR FOR THREEEEEEEEEEEEEE AGAIN!!!
So, let’s be honest. I’m glad they signed him long term, but he def got a great deal for his overall ability. He is getting paid very good money for being a role player on a very bad team.
I think he is what he is, good energy role player, but if his last name was not Nance and his dad not payed here, I wonder if things would have been different with how quick he got a extension getting paid good money.

Overall it is not that big of a deal because he should not be a huge hinderance when it comes to cap space, but I think we have to be careful when we talk about him and Cedi as part of a young core. These guys are okay, but def not premium talents you build or turn a franchise around.

I definitely agree he got a good deal for his current ability. The organization knew he had been working on his 3 pt shot and most likely have seen how well he shots it more than we currently have.

It will be a very good deal if he is able to hit 3s with a good percentage. He can then play both PF and center going forward even if stretch 5s become more popular. I'm not sure he is a full time starter but he can be in the 3 big man rotation, who gets heavy minutes off the bench.

Screw the 3 pt shot....try working on the free throws first. He has probably been my biggest disappointment so far this year.

Looking at the box score it looks like Nance went one for two from behind the 3 point line. That's better than what I have expected, even considering the small sample size. I'm still not going to hold my breath that he'll ever be a proficient outside shooter but at least he's taking a few. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Somebody needs to sit him down and tell him to stop bringing up the fucking ball, he's not a fucking pointgaurd it's so frustrating to watch. Give the ball to Cedi or Sexton and lets go on a fast break it's our only chance of winning games. The TT Lance experiment also needs to stop can't wait till Nwabas back

Yeah theres a time and place for it. Sure if he sees an opening go for it. But the team would be far better served if he dished it quickly to a guard and went rim running.

I know he's kind of a family friend around here and I'm rooting for the guy, but does anyone else question his intensity and work ethic? I don't know how much work he puts in but his body language and mannerisms leave me questioning him. The laughing finger wag at the official towards the end of the game, him saying something like "yeah I'm having fun, they let me shoot threes now!", playing outside of his abilities (over dribbling, bringing the ball up the court)....just rubs me the wrong way, and I was super excited to see him in Cleveland and see him develop. Like...does he just not take the game seriously? Seems like his personality would clash with Sexton's...

I've also been disappointed with the level of play from Nance recently. I thought he would help Sexton out alot more than he has. Nance seems to rather play buddy ball with Clarkson and TT. Nwaba seem to make a much bigger impact to the starting unit than Nance.

He does seem like he is trying to work on developing new skills but he doesn't seem to be giving the same effort with the stuff that allowed him to make an impact on the game in the first place.
