Hypothetical question y’all. Say Knicks get Zion and they offer Zion/Knox future picks for AD. If you’re NO, do you take that offer over Boston’s if Boston offered Tatum/Brown and future picks?
NO would be dumb to turn that down, but so would the Knicks for offering.

Unless AD is the final piece to a championship puzzle, trading a cost-controlled Zion for what could very well be a year of AD is hopelessly idiotic...which means that the Knicks would do it in a heartbeat.

Sorry I should’ve stated that NY offers this after they secure 2 max free agents.

I would. Brown had a good year last year, but he sucks this year and there really isn’t any indication he’ll get better. Zion could be a generational talent, and Tatum may be as well, but I don’t see Tatum quite getting to that level.

Does anyone think a lot of this noice is being pushed hard by the NBA, moving up the trade deadline is making all the conversation on the NBA when the Super Bowl is this week. The NBA has dominate the news cycle. I personally keep forgetting this is super bowl weekend. This is well played by the NBA.

This is shaping up to be a crazy deadline as you have a lot of teams in the East who think this could be the year to make a run. With so many big names set to be FA in the summer, I have to imagin there is a lot of pressure on the teams to make sure they make the East conference finals. Toranto and Philly are both teams that are in a win now mode. I just really hope we are able to make a few moves to get ride if Burks and Hood and maybe TT. I am really worried that if Love comes back that we play well enough to lose out on a top 5 pick. A lot of teams are tanking and they are not getting a player of Love back. We are not close to the worse team in the East when Love comes back.

Fuck LA. Their offer was shit. They should be offering a premium.

The NBA is the best at this. There really isn't much of an offseason in the NBA. Draft late June, Free agency July, and now there are often moves in August and September. Season starts mid-October.

No way boston gives up Tatum for a one year rental.
Especially after Kawhi leaves Toronto when they gave up Derozan.
If NOP waits till july, lakers can take kuzma off the table.

The Lakers are looking to waste the first year of LBJ, and if they lessen their deal they may lose year 2. They can’t afford to lessen anything- they could strike out altogether and get nothing while Kyrie and AD or Durant move to NYK.

I mean, no one is beating Golden State anyway so it was going to be a wasted year for whichever team LeBron went to. It's a waste for pretty much everyone.

Agreed. LeBron isn’t even trying to win anything anymore. He’s focusing on other ways to make money since GS is unbeatable.

I dunno. LBJ is still so great that if you give him significant help, he can give GS fits.
LBJ and AD would be a very formidable pair with the current Lakers. GSW would still be favored, but they would get a run for their money.

This could have been the case without KD in GSW, but at this point there isn’t a possible combination of players that are going to beat that team.
