Things your proud of thead/brag thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You better be clear with your phrasing here or you’re gonna get the whole site in trouble.

I said “I fingered a girl at camp in the 8th grade, not “I fingered an 8th grade girl at the camp.”
i changed the verbiage. Let me know if you are cool with it.

Honestly? My career change. Instead of toiling at a depressing customer service job endlessly, I used the time and benefits to get my Master’s and self-teach myself valuable skills, and now I’m a fucking data analyst for a huge company, with a career trajectory aiming upwards to points I admit I never thought I’d reach.

Literally started from the bottom and now I’m here. After I lost my job in Florida, that was a hella low point in my life. Would’ve been easy to just float along and be a loser. So yeah, I’m actually pretty proud of how I turned it around.

That, and being alive after getting blasted four times, I guess. :chuckle: That feels like a separate life.

It always surprises me when people don't know of @Chris getting his ass blown away in his driveway.

In all seriousness, @Chris is probably the most inspirational story on RCF. He's a fucking warrior for coming back from it all.

Good job, dude.

Love you guys. Went back and read that thread recently. Blast from the past. No pun intended.

This thread is great. Love being part of this community. I dont have any exciting stories and sometimes am proud of myself for getting out of bed in the morning.

If I had to throw one thing in here to start with, I would say I am pretty proud of myself for finally figuring out a reasonable work/life balance during the pandemic. Turns out having to completely stop interacting with people for a year and a half was all I needed.

I have gone back and forth on contributing in this thread. I don't think I've done anything amazing by myself. I know what my skill has always been: I get involved in something I believe should work and fill in as middle management to get the hard stuff accomplished, only put my foot down when I'm sure I should. My talent is creating a greater good with others.

Stuff I've been involved with:

- Two time state champs in an Ohio high school team sport as a varsity contributor. I was technically "captain" senior year but that was a reason for the head coach to send me to meetings he didn't want to attend. Definitely not the star.

- Bassist in a nice college band while also working real restaurant jobs to pay my own bills for myself.

- Writer and production for a regional start-up UPN television station. Remember UPN? Moesha and Star Trek Voyager for life!

- The goto social worker in Pittsburgh, PA for police working with habitual truancy issues for four years.

- At the same time, in the background for a major anti-war movement in Pittsburgh. Considered among the most well-organized in the country during the George W. Bush administration.

- As an educator, worked in communities of shocking poverty until I had kids of my own. San Francisco is a tale of haves and have-nots. Coached some bad-ass track and field teams.

- Also quietly helped run this place when I had spare time.

- Been a teacher who also runs a department and helps with union issues for the biggest middle school in S.F. At this point somebody who wants to Doxx me can totally blow my life up.

- With my amazing wife - who thankfully went the corporate route - we became home owners in a nice part of the Bay Area, which I really never thought would happen with my near-poverty comfort zone. That's mostly her.

Completely forgot.

Taylor schabusiness.

While her husband was incarcerated, she smoked meth with a guy that went to highschool with her years prior and went back to his mom's basement with him. He took out chains to be used as collars for each other.

She strangled him to death with it before cutting his head off. She then sucked his dick and fucked him with a dildo for hours until she got tired. She left his head and dick in a bucket for his mom to find and took some of the body parts with her in her car. She told police she didn't take the rest because she got sloppy and wished them luck in finding the organs.

The story was everywhere and so fucking wild. Women don't do this shit, and never ones that are attractive. I found her ig and followed details as they came up. I messaged her too.

A few weeks later she responded and was online for a couple hours. It was pretty fucking wild. She is charming and hypersexed and sent a nice little pic.

She never got back online and a few weeks later her ig got deleted, but I'll always have those 2 hours and a pic of her ass.

Did you tell her that her defense should be an irrational hatred of Ed Sheeran?

I'm happy to be a Millennial with zero debt, college or otherwise. Granted, I'm an older member of the gen and graduated right before the recession, so my tuition was pretty cheap. But I inherited my Silent Generation mother's penchant for frugality, and it's helped me so many ways in life. I can be content with simple things.

I graduated cum laude with a degree in English. This has helped me be less susceptible to conspiracy theories and other poorly cited crap. Academic rigor can be useful; it's not just ivory tower fluff.

Most of all, I'm happiest about my marriage and son. And I'm happy to be the highest functioning I've been in my life right now, getting past my worst mental health challenges in the 2010s. Despite being neurodivergent (autism), I'm probably better off in life right now than most Americans are in 2022 mental health-wise. I would have thought that impossible in, say, 2017, when I seemed far behind and everyone else seemed stable and optimistic. Now I'm the stable one in a world that's struggling with many of the things they didn't grant me leniency toward in the 2010s. How the times have changed!

I was just nominated as the leader of a team of 5 Sr team members dedicated to improving the overall experience and efficiency for the greater overall team of 30 something people. Basically the last step before moving to leadership style roles, so that’s exciting.
