There isnt really a thread to brag about your accomplishments or tell other posters about yourself. So figured why the hell not?

I'll start. Wife and I "high point" states. Our goal is to try and get to the highest point in every state. Some would call us mountaineers but I view us as pure amateurs. Over the last 3 days we did the high point in Utah making our number 44. It was 28 miles, and up 5000 vertical feet to get to 13505 feet. We have Alaska, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, Nevada, and... Florida left (saving that for last). So mountains like Rainier(WA), Whitney(CA), Elbert(CO), Hood(OR) we have hiked/climbed up. Additionally we have done St Helens, and Adams for those in the Pacific NW. At last check there were less than 1000 people that have done all 50, and less than 2500 that have done all but Alaska. The number of couples that have done all 50 together is less than 50 as far as I am aware and maybe less than 25.

Unfortunately as I am 39 my window to be able to physically do Denali is closing (most people are sub 40 though some do it into their 50s), plus I would need to lose a about 30 pounds. It's not completely impossible but it would take a complete change of lifestyle for 18 months, plus possibly moving (so we are no longer at sea level), plus at least 4 weeks off work.....

So enough about me, let's hear about your accomplishments.

I was a fucking moron and still am honestly

I stepped outside for a cigarette I believe and I'm guessing the water boiled over or some of the shit on the counter caught fire some other way. It was awful. Tried to go inside and people were rushing out. "There's a fire."

Oh what floor

6th floor

Damn thats my floor. Oh. Oh shit.

It was like 4 apartments, thank god my mom had renters insurance.

Have had sex multiple time…with girls!

Went to Space Camp as a kid. Nerdy but cool

Won middle school spelling bee while in 5th grade. I’m still pissed I lost on the word DISTURB bc I heard it as DISTURBED. Motherfuckers.

Quit my last job to start a full time freelance copywriting biz that I love.

Sunk multiple sailboats at a naval camp that had to be retrieved in front of the entire camp using other boats. Humiliating. I was still able to…

Fingered a girl at camp in 8th grade

Ran Pittsburgh marathon. Have run a lot of other races. I’m proud of some times I’ve run that probably aren’t particularly brag-worthy for others but a sub 6 mile was cool.

Built 25 ft brick accent wall in my basement with zero experience being handy at all beforehand. Harder than marathon honestly. Mortar was a nightmare.

Have attended concerts of some absolute legends including Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Foo Fighters and plenty of others.

About 10 yrs ago on a night that my wife and I went to Comedy Cellar in NYC to see John Mulaney before he was a big deal. We had heard that sometimes comedians showed up unannounced. That night Amy Schumer (yeah yeah, she was a rising star at the time and not annoying yet), Sarah Silverman, Jim Norton, a young Michael Che and you guessed it…Louis Ck all showed up unannounced. One of the coolest experiences of my life. Sarah Silverman and Louis were fire.

Hiked Wheeler Peak in Taos. It’s 13k+ which only makes it top 100 in the states but it was a 16 mile trail and we got caught in a lightning storm halfway through. One of the scariest, ball-tingling and chaRacter-building experiences of my life.

That’s it. Everything else has been mostly average.

My wife's uncle is a double highpoint, having g done both the highest and second highest spots in the US ( includes Alaska and Hawaii.. he is in his early eighties and has been forced to slow down a bit, but he was still ice climbing in his late seventies.. They live in Montrose Colorado.. He is also perhaps the nicest guy I have ever met..

I finished 28, state of Ohio in Cross country..
I finished tenth in my high school class ,but I wrote 4 of the six valedictorian speeches in my graduating class..
I rocked at Foosball, until I injured my wrist..
I have written over a hundred poems and short stories
I have ten patents ( so far)
I have launched new products creating over 500 million dollars in revenue
I have created several new businesses employing around a hundred ongoing jobs.
I recently helped some local guys start a company after thier corporate owner assholes closed thier plant for no good reason.. they will generate 8 million dollars in sales thier first year, created 12 good jobs, and I got them equity when they had no cash..
I started a middle school lacrosse program locally. Has turned into a giant thing.
I was active in boy scouts, taught all the citizenship merit badges. Was a vector in a dozen eagle scouts locally..
I am married 37 years to the same woman , who is frigging awesome..
That's all I got!

I was a baseball prodigy until everyone hit puberty. Made Williamsport as a rookie.

Ended up sticking with soccer. All district and got a scholarship...to some D4 liberal arts school.

Got full almost a full ride to Akron and OSU due in part to a ~96th percentile ACT. I actually took it in 8th grade and got ~80th percentile.

My dumb ass chose Akron, life would have been so much different but oh well live and learn.

Crowning moment sexually was probably making out with two girls at the same time in HS lmao.

In contrast to sports/academics I was very underdeveloped socially. Really cringe thinking back on it. I just got into relationships by dumb luck.

Lost track of how many patents I have, but most of them were design parents, though I have a few utility patents.

Today I develop product that millions of people use every day, including some of you

I think I was like 9 at Space Camp. Too early.

But I absolutely would have if one would have let me.

The closest I got to fingering a girl there was searching for and then examining simulated Martian dust under a microscope.

Which if you think about it is kind of similar.

What a wonderful thread!

We have such amazing people in this community!
