OT: Your All Time Favorite NBA Player

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Always have two every decade.

1990s: Rex Chapman/Allen Iverson
2000s: Tracy McGrady/Kevin Garnett
2010s: Kevin Love/Russell Westbrook
2020s: SGA/Evan Mobley (ok admittedly always Cav so far)

OMG!!! I had that poster, too! Did you watch him during his ABA days?
No. I never saw him live, just what little you could get on TV and highlights in those days. He just made dropping 30 (or 50) look effortless.

Grew up loving the jazz...Stockton and Malone were always my favorite. I'm not sure I was into them as much as I've been into the Cavs since moving here the year before LeBron, but still have a soft spot for the jazz.

Growing up it was Walt Frazier and Dr J. After that my favorite players were all Cavaliers.

Now, it's Giannis and it's not even close. I love everything about him on and off the court.

There is a lot of talk about "privilege". One category is "American Privilege." Our country is prosperous & powerful so we get many of the better things in life. In basketball the world's best all play here. The NBA is less than 500 (rotation) incredibly elite athletes from the entire globe. Just from the Balkans we have Giannis, Jokic and Doncic. We're just damn fortunate to have such incredible talent based here where we can watch them.
Sometimes, highlights DO tell the story.

First guy I loved to watch as a kid was George Gervin - yes, I had the poster.

The Iceman was probably second.

Hated Bird, growing up. Have mad respect for him now.

Since several people have said Dr. J, I thought the youngsters need to see why:

Wow. MJ. Cant believe I’m the first to say it.

Was also a HUGE Grant Hill fan

The play where he essentially levitates behind the backboard and lays it in might be the greatest basketball play EVER.
The killer is, most people say he played BETTER in the ABA rather than the NBA.

He is the greatest in-game dunker ever. He was the first to do a 360 dunk--in a game. He routinely dunks from outside the key. Everything is so smooth and effortless.

Everyone wanted to be Dr. J in the 70s.

I HATED MJ. He was my LEAST favorite player. He was a great basketball player, but he wasn’t that likable.

Dirk AND T-Mac got me into the NBA. So one of them. Currently Kyrie is my favorite non Cav with Zion close behind.

If i have a son I’m actually gonna make him Zion
