Let’s leave our bias for Cavalier players out of this discussion. So leaving Cavs players out who was (or is) your all time favorite NBA player. Earl (the Pearl) is my all time favorite. Growing up I fashioned my game after his and perfected his patent spin move. ;)

Kevin Durant & Carmelo Anthony. The things Durant does at his height are simply unreal. Wish he & LeBron played together at one point but it didn't happen.

Carmelo is so underrated. He has one of the best offensive repertoires the league has ever seen. If he had the right supporting cast in his prime, Melo would've won many rings. He will go down as one of the best ever to not win one (assuming no more titles in the next few years).

Shaq by far. As a kid watching him completely engulf other players in the post was insane.

Growing up it was Walt Frazier and Dr J. After that my favorite players were all Cavaliers.

Now, it's Giannis and it's not even close. I love everything about him on and off the court.

There is a lot of talk about "privilege". One category is "American Privilege." Our country is prosperous & powerful so we get many of the better things in life. In basketball the world's best all play here. The NBA is less than 500 (rotation) incredibly elite athletes from the entire globe. Just from the Balkans we have Giannis, Jokic and Doncic. We're just damn fortunate to have such incredible talent based here where we can watch them.

If Melo didn't leave Denver he may have had a shot. He played almost no defense his whole career but he was a supremely talented scorer, though not sure he quite had that superstar takeover MJ/Kobe/Lebron thing.

Shawn Kemp

I know he was a Cav for a few years, but the Seattle Reignman was my hero. Him getting traded to the Cavs is why I became a Cavs fan and never left.

After Kemp it's Rasheed Wallace - he was a dog. Could shoot, dunk, and play D.

Those are my #1 and #2 all time favorites. If you were to include Cavs, they would still be top 3. There's nothing as magical as the players you love as a kid - and quite frankly, between '97 and LeBron (I turned 18 in '04), there weren't many inspirational Cavs lol

First guy I loved to watch as a kid was George Gervin - yes, I had the poster.

I am still pretty high on Anthony Randolph. Was convinced he was going to be a superstar and have been chasing that archetype ever since. Similarly, always been a huge fan of Gerald Wallace. Among guards, Baron Davis (Warriors edition) was always a big favorite. I used to pair Boom Dizzle and Crash in 2k7-9 and just get a million steals.

I was also always a big fan of Boris Diaw as a super versatile role player type. A few more forgotten forwards of the same period: Chuck Hayes, Craig Smith, Carl Landry. Big fan of those dudes

Dr J….loved the late 70’s/early 80’s 76ers teams.

I want to say Wilt Chamberlain, but I really didn't see him play much. His famous 1961 season wasn't fully recorded.

For watching someone play, it's Dr. J first, then Lebron, then Michael J.
