Danny Green: Long Time, No See

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Alright fellas. Some much needed dialogue took place and it seems everyone found a worthwhile resolution without too much name calling and/or hopefully hurt feelings.

@gambler has proven himself to have strong opinions. They may not align with a majority of the people here but he is still well within his right to feel how he feels. Hopefully with less….. ellipses. :chuckle: We are alllll hoping you cash on your bets this year, and I hope you stick around after.

Cedi-15
love-12
wade-15
stevens-15
green-12
rubio-15

thats 85 minutes off the bench.
The problem is that Wade is the only one who can play PF. He's got to get up to 20 mpg or JBB will break Allen again. It's barely conceivable to me that we were in better shape at backup center last year with Moses Brown on the roster.

What’s with Lopez? Is he just toast at this point? Injured?

Technically one wing who was traded makes us favorites, but Durant wasnt a tax question as we didnt have what it took.

And yes, i am being an ass, I know...just my humor. But with Durant at SF we have to be favorites right?
Assuming we did mot lose our core.. but we are positioned like a San Antonio right now, contending for a long time..

Doesn't look like he's signed yet. Probably no rush with the all star weekend coming up. But if he's not officially on the roster by Sunday, something strange is going on.

Edit: Looks like the transaction showed up. Sweet!

I’m surprised #14 is available. I thought they retired Foots Walker.

Bobby Philly (RIP) and Ira Newble are to other players who wore #14 for several seasons. Also Malik Newman.

Danny shot 6/22 from 3 while he wore #14 for us.

RoLo's washed at this point. He has the lateral quickness of Frank the Tank with the tranquilizer dart still in his neck.

Lopez fills a role on the team. Every NBA team with playoff aspirations tries to stock a physical 7 foot guy who can spend a couple minutes on the floor. I'd say Lopez is one of the best 3rd string centers in the league, for what that's worth.

Just like how Danny Green's shooting fills a need that the team was missing. Cavs don't need Danny Green to start. Cavs don't need him to guard the most athletic wing of the floor. They just need a small wing that can come in and reliably space the hell out of the floor without being a liability on defense.

Green lets the Cavs put in a killer small lineup of Garland, Mitchell, Green, Love, and Mobley.

Okoro and LeVert have had their moments, but do you feel like you can count on them for a playoff game?

Love should not see the floor with that layup drill defense of his

Looks like Danny Green has a YouTube channel. Not sure anything about this channel, but he does have a video about being a Cav again. The Cleveland talk starts around 5:30 for like a minute and then again at 11:30.

Some notes about his thought process of choosing the Cavs. There's more to this video that I haven't noted.
  • He didn't want to stay in Houston because they didn't commit to him beyond this year. So they agreed on a buyout.
  • He waited to teams to come to him. He was looking at teams with the need for his skills. He said he thought most contenders were stacked heavy at the wing position.
    • Nuggets, Clippers, Celtics are all stacked at the wing
  • He said Cleveland has a lot of young talent, but he has more opportunity to get onto the court.
    • Cleveland was also very aggressive at pursuing him.
  • He likes the roster. He seems open to being able to teach the young guys and mentions helping the guys navigating the East during the playoffs.
