Danny Green: Long Time, No See

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No, but we'll see. On offense Harden was in the paint while green still had a foot on the 3 point line.
It's early, I get that he's trying to get back into game shape after a knee surgery. But I hope he gets much quicker soon. If what we saw last night is where he's really gonna be at, it was a was a waste of time and money to bring him in here.

And that game seemed like the wrong time to give him serious minutes. He doesn't even have any feel for his teammates yet, so let's put him into an important game against a top conference rival.

Well, we were missing two key rotational players.

The week before ASB is always a time where our Cavs rotation is running on fumes. I'm totally fine with Danny Green getting some run and looking rusty in order to alleviate some tired legs. He needed to show the coaches where he is at in his rehab.

When Danny Green signed here, he said one of his considerations was team need and the fact he’d actually get playing time here. How wrong he was. Man was clearly not familiar with John Blair Bickerstaff! :chuckle:

I want to believe that the Cavs are just breaking him in with intense conditioning and tape watch to unleash him in the final 10 games(unleash meaning 12-16 mpg), but not super confident that that's the case:

Lol

His legs and movement look like they’re still recovering but I’ll be damned if the shot isn’t true. Could snatch us a game if his number gets called. Might have a Rafer Alston type impact in a series where no one plans for him.

Put him next to a few other shooters for a couple minutes in a bench run…

Mobley/Rubio/Cedi/Levert/Green might cause a little trouble…

Unfortunately probably not going to happen because JBs gotta get his main man Lamar some minutes!

In the post game JBB was asked if Green has room in the rotation in the playoffs and he said "I think so". Hopefully he's warming up to the idea of Green playing significantly in the post season and not just garbage time.

JBB claimed that Greens illness set him back but I'm not buying that at all. He'd much rather play that brick laying Steven's if he had to make a gun to the head decision.

Do the Knicks have a no-threat scoring option that Green can guard? Seriously, if they have an Okoro or Wade type who just gets parked in the corner, then Green could get great minutes. But against an active scorer he’s going to struggle. I think I could hear his knees squeaking through the TV, but dang! That man can shoot the rock

That’s the issue. Can Green play D? Because if he can’t then JBB won’t play him or will play him sparingly. It’s why Wade will get minutes over Green.

This team’s superpower is defense and that will not be compromised.
