I got this by years end.

Pg - Mitchell, Rubio
SG - Strus, LeVert
SF - Brown, Wade
PF - Niang, I. Mobley
C - E. Mobley, Jones

Garland gets traded for Brown from Celtics. This team becomes a deep playoffs team.
So the Cavs trade their 23 year old allstar PG who is under contract for 5 more years, to the Celtics no less, for a guy on an expiring contract? Are the Cavs F.O. personnel tired of getting paid to work in the NBA? Is that why we do it?

Also, did we just cut Allen in this scenario?

Donte DiVincenzo to Knicks for 4 years/50 mill.

Evan Mobley as a full-time center is utterly stupid and will mark the beginning of the end of his time in Cleveland.

They're not going into the tax this year for a BAE signing, nor should they. They need to postpone the start of the repeater tax clock as long as possible.

Had they dropped Merrill's contract onto a team with a TPE slot and not acquired Jones, they could've given Bamba the 2 year/$8,415,250 BAE and still be under the second apron.

Of course, that's all predicated on Bamba agreeing that's his current value. He may want more and is waiting the market out.

Is it posible to get Bamba in a S&T? How much would we be able to offer him & what pieces would be sent to the Lakers? Rubio & Okoro?

Lakers can't sign and trade him because they waived him. I'm pretty sure he has no bird rights anymore. I could be wrong though.

Not with JBB…

I think Damian will surprise people. In fact, I don't think Bamba is any better than him, at least not significantly.

I'm with you. Grant is a useful player, but the years are almost as bad as the number. That is the kind of contract you may have to end up attaching to assets to rid yourself of if things don't go great (and for that kind of money, you should expect a great player).

Speaking of which, we should all be thankful Caris signed a very reasonable contract that is extremely movable if the time ever came to do so. He had us over a barrel, in truth. Cavs couldn't afford to lose the asset for nothing and his camp had all the leverage. He could've pulled a 2016 Tristan Thompson type move, albeit an obviously different set of circumstances. We all knew TT probably wasn't worth that much money on the open market, but we couldn't afford to lose him for nothing.

I'm guessing this is the reason the Blazers were forced to overpay, too.

So, big shout out to Caris Levert for not overplaying his hand and putting us in a bad spot.
hey, good to see you here RBA.
I'll say it again. The first news being LeVert 2/32 made me incredibly happy. He really gave the team a chance.

When you seen some of the numbers getting thrown about this off season (Grant, Dillon Brooks, van Vleet, Bruce Brown etc.), Cavs work thus far gains particular praise. We probably slightly overpaid Strus, but every other deal is movable if it doesn’t pan out. We’re building a team. Only Lakers have done better IMO, building depth and avoiding radical overpay.

The developmental staff + internal player growth and injury recovery leave me optimistic we have somewhat rebuilt our asset mix after the devastation of the Mitchell trade. Still feel a more bruising big and a longer wing would have been ideal, but the price tag on wings is crazy.

We certainly feel deeper and not every bet will pan out, but our shooting has to be much improved. I’d then bet on our new personnel to make a defensive leap with this staff.

Admiral Schofield, Derrick Jones Jr., Darius Bazley, Trendon Watford

I agree with Bazley and Watford. I'm meh on Jones Jr but hes 6-6 with a 7-0 wingspan and a decent defender. However I have no idea why you would want Schofield another 6-5 Wing which we don't really need another 6-5 Wing especially one who can't shoot.

I like both the Jerome signing and Jones signing.. bothe guys have a demonstrated some range and and good fit types.. this is the cheap end of the roster finds we have been good at lately..
