W&G: DEADLINE DAY IS HERE !

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We're still good, but damn not at least a G. Wallace sighting lol

Now a lot of you got me mad, real mad. You aren't happy we stayed pat - tell me what you expected to happen. Seriously, stop acting like we completely messed up - if that's the mindset some of you have, you'd have been happy with Brad Miller.

Ferry is a pretty smart guy, he's built a great team. If nothing happened, it was because nothing that could have helped us was available. Stop acting like fools,, that's absurd.

Please... You have no way of knowing if what you're saying is true whatsoever.

Regarding Miller, I'd have loved to have picked up Brad Miller a 2010 expiring and backup center @ 12ppg and John Salmons @ 18ppg (fluke, maybe - but better than Wally regardless) which would have shored up our bench giving us a much better chance of securing that #1 seed. Perhaps it doesn't help us against the Lakers, but it's an improvement.

Stop rationalizing whatever the Cavs do as "good." Today was bad.

Nothin to be pissed at Ferry for, hes a great GM. Seems weird that noone wan ted an expiring cointract given alot of the situations, and theyll be the ones regretting not cutting costs.

But personally I cant see us beating LA. BUt we'll see them in the finals for sure.

I feel like a little bit died inside me. In 7 game series with Boston/Orlando I dont think we can compete.

Orlando has been awful since Jameer got hurt. Yes, they picked up "skip to my lou," but he isn't nearly the player Jameer is. Also, they lost a first round pick in the process, which as Cavs fans should know from several years ago is always costly.

As to Boston, give me a break. Both teams are the same as last year, with three exceptions. We now have Mo and JJ (I'll leave Darnell and TK out to be realistic). In addition, they lost Posey, which is apparent if you watch their perimeter defense from this year to last. How can you say that a team we took to 7 games on the road last year and lost to in the final minutes is so much better than us that we can't compete. Mo will make a huge difference in that series, as was seen in our last game against Boston where we led from wire to wire. Also, we could very well have home court advantage this time around.

Why does no one point out that with both Z and DWest the cavs are 24 and 4. That is ridiculous and shows the potential this team still has.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted to trade as much as the next guy. However, I will not let this ruin my hopes for a title. A few lucky bounces and Lebron will be lifting the NBA Finals MVP trophy in June.

Not only are we standing pat, but the news of Joe Smith hoping to sign with Boston if he's bought out is even worse. :( If Rafer fits in with Orlando, we could be screwed....

Does anyone remember when last year's trade was announced? How many minutes past deadline?

I'm trying to get at least some hope :hide:

It was finalized way after the deadline, but we knew about the trade right around the deadline.

Thats freaking great. Now we will proabally get 3rd seed and get our asses handed to us by the lakers.

Even though I'm a bit disappointed we didn't get anything done..I think it's safe to say Ferry didn't want to take back any ridiculous contracts..thats why they balked at Wally being thrown in the Shaq deal.
Too much coming back..
Otherwise I truely believe very few teams really wanted to deal with the Cavs and put them over the top.

We won't know if today was bad until June. This is the best Cavaliers team ever assembled, and we can beat anyone in the NBA in a 7 game series. I still like our chances.

You're right, I would have loved to see Amare here.

But, the alternative to me is easily just as good. This is not the 05-06 Cavaliers. Standing pat means we are still the best team in the league.

Cry all you guys want about Lakers this, Boston that. We have hung solid with the best teams in the league, WHILE withstanding the worst injury troubles (until Nelson went down). When healthy, this team is deadly. Period.

If any of you cannot appreciate that, I feel real real sorry for you.

Not directed at you gourikmo... just all the whiners and sudden Ferry bashers.

It's brave to call the Cavs the best team in the league when they have been spanked by the Lakers twice.

I was hoping for a big man to give an inside presence to this team. It didn't happen. You move on. It's not Ferry's fault. It's not like he was sittiing at his desk turning down a bunch of deals.
