2023-24 Season | Game #28 | Jazz @ Cavs | Dec. 20, 2023 | 7:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Garland should be taking 3’s like Max and Merrill.

Help to reduce his workload and contact on drives. It would only open additional space on the floor.

More single big lineups. I don’t think Mobley and Allen should start when Mobley comes back. Allen should take the Thompson role.

Garland, Mitchell, Strus, Wade, and Mobley

CPJ, Vert, Allen bench Okoro, Merrill, Niang fight for 9,10 rotation minutes
Volume yes, but I disagree with the shots off screens like Sam does. I don't think his release is high or quick enough to pull that off.

There's also the simple fact the bigs didn't hedge nor switch to Sam. The guards also didn't always go over. Darius doesn't get those look IMO.

Garland doesn't have the type of shot to hunt for 3s like Sam.

The other thing is Strus and Merril are better at hunting 3s because they're just better at creating space when they don't have the ball.

Garland's not good off the ball at getting himself open.

He speaks like a coach. He plays a great veteran game, and leads by example and voice. Incredible pickup
I agree. Even though he has a TV analyst deal, I’d love to see him go into coaching first

Donovan Mitchell yelled, “There you go!” Darius Garland gave a look of pleasant surprise. Tristan Thompson belted, “We got an [expletive] squad now.” And before Craig Porter Jr hit the locker room door, ex-NBA star Dylan Windler hugged him & said, “Y’all look so different.”

Imagine this lineup at some point:

Georges Niang
Max Strus
Sam Merrill
Emoni Bates
Darius Garland

Yes, it doesn't play defense, but I think the motion and shooting would create havoc for a few minutes as a bench lineup.

I keep thinking back to something I typed a few weeks ago after that loss to Portland.

This team getting healthy is a curse.

The actual product is better when injured. The role players produce more, the ball moves more, and frankly Bickerstaff coaches better.

Yes volume and off ball set 3’s. Garland should be looking to take any 3 like curry off screens.

Max, Sam, and Mitchell should coming off screens
