Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hope you weren’t part of the throng turned away at the WM Phoenix Open this afternoon

No i havent gone to the Phoenix Open in years, its cold out right now and its a crazy over the top party and not my thing any more.

But it was fun when I went, even had a box seat before on the famous 16th hole, but been over a decade.

Don’t blame you one bit

Yes but Allen has the best fro in Cavs history. Wesley is second
However, I highly doubt that JA will ever equal Walt’s single game scoring record of 50 against the Cincinnati Royals which coincidentally were the only pro team we could watch play live at the Arena prior to the expansion Cavs

Is that the camera or do JA and Dean look almost identical in height?
Jarrett is in his socks, Dean is in his shoes. That adds at least an inch. If Dean is 6-9, then Jarrett is 6-10 1/2 or 11, since he still looks taller.

  • This may seem like a broken record, but seeing Mobley so aggressive looking for his shot on the second unit is the exact type of leap everyone wanted to see coming into the year. He led the team with 8 second quarter points, and went on a 8-1 run by himself.
  • The one point of growth that seems more evident since his return is his ability to initiate and play through contact. There was an offensive possession where he put his shoulder into the defender’s body to initiate contact to create space. There was another occasion where he shrugged off contact to finish with a dunk. There were a few other possessions where he made out of area rebounds with multiple defenders competing for the same rebound. His growing comfortability with the physical nature of the game is huge.
  • That 8-1 Mobley run was rolled into a larger 19-1 run over 4 ½ minute span of the second quarter. That run included three Darius Garland assists, and three straight three pointers including an Isaac Okoro step back, confident looking three. It also included a pin down to three point shot for Sam Merrill right off the bench.

Pretty workmanlike win - decisive but not too spectacular. Garland is still struggling with his 3-point shot (1-for-5) and is still committing turnovers in heavy traffic in the paint. Mitchell only took 11 shots and scored 15.

As I said in the preview the Raptors' bench ranks 29th in the last 15 games and Wade, Levert, and Okoro were +26, +24, and +19 off the Cavs' bench while Olynyk, Brown, and Dick were -19, -21, and -22 off the Raptors' bench.

The Cavs had 36 assists to 10 turnovers - sweet. The ball is really moving; it's not unusual for all five players to touch the ball before they even start to attack the bucket. Strus had 7 assists. His bounce passes to Allen on the pick-and-roll are perfection; they are not too hot to handle (Allen has bad hands) and arrive right at Jarrett's waist level where he can catch it easily.

As opposed to Garland who tends to throw hot passes from five feet away that bounce off Allen's hands because he doesn't have time to pick up the ball before it arrives.

The Raptors just didn't have the offensive firepower they had when VanVleet, Lowry, Anunoby, and Siakam were on the team.

So the beat goes on and the next victim is Philadelphia, which squeaked by 9-43 Washington tonight and is now 2-7 since losing Embiid.
