I voted for the last option. Every year in every sport, I usually end up rooting against a certain fanbase to win it all (NY, LA, Pitt, boston, Florida). When they win I fel agony, and when I don;t win, I usually don't feel all that good because my team did not even come close.

I want as many fans to suffer when the Cavs win as I have. I want everyone to hate the Cavs, and be miserable when we win. I will soak up their misery with glee.

Unhealthy outlook? Yes. But years of Cleveland sports will do that.

I'm all for it.. It may take me awhile as it took me awhile to welcome all the new posters here... Being an original 2005er on this site, it took me some time to warmup...

As long as you aren't a Steelers, Celtics, Lakers, Yankees, Red Sox, or all that anti-Ohio bullshit fan you are welcome.

Seriously, people should know whether it is or isn't appropriate to root for us based on their biases alone, and that's how I see it.

His opinion is the small markets only have teams so the big markets don't get tired of playing eachother and only Big markets should be the only ones allowed to win a title.

My fav team was the Sonics and my fav player was Shawn Kemp since 1991. When they traded him away before the '96-'97 season I was devastated as a Sonics diehard. Nonetheless, I adopted the Cavs as my second favorite team ever since then! When I read about LeBron, while he was still in high school, and watched his HS games on ESPN I was enamored. I saw LeBron, from a basketball talent perspective, as a mix between Kemp and Magic and thought it would be perfect if he was drafted by the Cavs and would bring them back to prominence, and boy has he!

So while I'm not from Ohio, I've been a fan of the Cavs for over 13 years now!

Since i moved to the shit biscuit that is Michigan 3 years ago this is pretty much them on the Cavaliers (most are actual quotes) (from past to most recent):

I agree...this bandwagon has NO room for any stooler fans. Blank said it best, "Don't say **** Cleveland, and then turn around and root for the Cavs."

Who cares, there's always room on the bandwagon, just at the back, not the front.

Cleveland isn't a basketball town by nature. So we need the bandwagon fans to help fill the arena, buy concessions, drive up the TV ratings, and put revenue in Dan Gilbert's pockets. If it was just the hardcore fanbase, we'd still be averaging 10-12,000 a game like we were back in the day. And I don't think that's what anyone should want.

As for being down on fans who just jumped aboard, who cares? This isn't a contest to see what fans deserve this year more or less than others. If you've been with the team for a long time, that's great. I have too. You're the real deal and I applaud that. But my satisfaction won't be dampened in the slightest by the knowledge that some of the other celebrants were wearing #23 Bulls jerseys at this time ten years ago. I don't know why it would.
