Wild Speculation

When I wrote the above about four months ago, I had no idea how close the reality would play out. It truly was wild speculation at that point. But, the coming days will be very key to how the future plays out for the Cavaliers.

As many that know me know now, I'm really not tied close to the day to day goings on with the team, but do get wind of many things through other channels. The team is more active than at any time in trying to reconfigure the roster, and bring a big name in ... along with that also options that get us into the draft in a variety of ways.

Lebron wants to stay in Cleveland, he truly does ...but, the team has to have some strong success in finally getting the team around him that he covets. We have big trade options on the burner that could answer many of his concerns. Hopefully , for the sake of the franchise, I hope they are successful in getting done what they need to.

I hope your right about the trade options. Why do I have a feeling we aren't gonna get in the draft or make any big trades?

This is awesome for a few reasons:

1) It means big names ARE possible. Not a sure thing, but being worked on and possible. I wish Chris Paul (even though I doubt it), but it looks like there are some big names that the cavs FO think are realistic to get.

2. Lebron does have a desire to stay here....as long as we give him a reason too.

3. Post from W&G are always awesome.


I won't ask for more details.... I'll leave that for the 20 other posts following mine that will happen once more people look at this thread :D
 
Please no Amare Safari 3.0. I can't handle that again and I don't think any of you could handle that again.

Really though, to say we have a chance, very exciting. The Safari's and other watches have freakin worn me out though. I don't know if my ticker can take it.

We can bid on anyone or anything we want, but we still have very limited assets and the clock is ticking. Izzo isn't signed. We haven't pulled off a deal for lottery pick. Nobody... not Paul, not Bosh has insisted they want to play for the Cavs.

Well ... at least Mo did.

We absolutely need to preempt LeBron before he starts kicking tires around the league in a week, but there's no visible progress on the 3 step process needed to do that: a) sign a top coach, b) trade for lottery pick, c) use lotto pick to trade for FOB (friend of LeBron).

There's still time, but it's running out and running out quickly.
