Wild Speculation

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I certainly hate to question W&G and dont want to burst everyone's enthusiasm.... but wasnt it reported that the Nets offered Devin Harris, the #3 pick, and taking on a bad contract for CP3 and it was turned down?

Can we really beat that offer?

It doesn't necessarily have to be CP3. Or Bosh. Or Amar'e. It could be a number of things.

But I do agree, we would be hard pressed to top that. Maybe, MAYBE, something like Andy, JJ, Mo and contracts for two bad contracts and CP3, but even that is a stretch.

I am very curious as to what the front office is working up. They have done a good job keeping the lid on, so to speak.

I think the highlight of last season was when W&G said something along the lines of "positive news from the Amare front". That was the happiest I've been for a good hour or so.

Screw Paul. I want Bosh.

W&G gives me yet another boner.

Only to be turned to blue balls in a few days undoubtedly.

Let's try not to get too excited right now. I just wanted to clear something up:

W&G never said that a trade was going to get done, or that a trade was close to getting completed. All he said was that we are trying harder than ever to make a big splash & overturn our roster. He did not guarantee anything.

Yes, I know he said we have some trades on the burners, but let's understand that it takes 2 to tango & anyone can change their minds at anytime. He also didn't specifiy that it would be on draft day.

I just wanted people to go back & really read his post, so they won't get too overly excited that a deal will get done, only to be disappointed if it doesn't.

If people don't understand this by now- namely, that W&G's musings don't indicate shit will instantly be coming to fruition- then they are frankly very dumb.

Will never forget Safari Blue Balls 2.0. Never.

But then how are people supposed to get all unnecessarily hyped up, and then blame W&G when all the glorious scenarios they've planned out don't actually end up happening? :dunno:

Agree, but still think it's worth mentioning, especially with the influx of new posters.

And I also don't want to shift through 80+ pages of people questioning W&G's validity, whether or not he should've posted it, or the "fact" that he was wrong, when he gave no indication whatsoever of a guarantee, while trying to find a readable post.

I agree with you, but I'm pretty sure people are going to be disappointed if a deal doesn't get done anyway because of...well, the implications it will likely have.

And for those late to the party and those who are too lazy to flip back a few pages, this is what W&G said earlier.

When I wrote the above about four months ago, I had no idea how close the reality would play out. It truly was wild speculation at that point. But, the coming days will be very key to how the future plays out for the Cavaliers.

As many that know me know now, I'm really not tied close to the day to day goings on with the team, but do get wind of many things through other channels. The team is more active than at any time in trying to reconfigure the roster, and bring a big name in ... along with that also options that get us into the draft in a variety of ways.

Lebron wants to stay in Cleveland, he truly does ...but, the team has to have some strong success in finally getting the team around him that he covets. We have big trade options on the burner that could answer many of his concerns. Hopefully , for the sake of the franchise, I hope they are successful in getting done what they need to.

No worries, they probably still will, despite the fact that somebody spelled it out for them :chuckles:

I feel I've heard this one too many times past three years. And all we got is underperforming rejects from other teams.
