Would a possible S&T for David Lee be able to go down? Someone inform me.

Amare Stoudemire is on his way to New York now to meet with Knicks. Both sides expect to reach an agreement on a max deal.

Looks like Safari might be over unless somehow Amare & Knicks doesn't agree, LeBron decides quickly, LeBron ultimately picks the Cavs, he then recruits Amare to the Cavs, the Cavs offer a full max deal to Amare and Amare demands S&T to Cleveland..
So realistically, it looks like the chance of Amare coming here is .00001%...
LeBron is gone either way, but Amar'e to the Knicks makes them pretty attractive. I'd still say LeBron is a Bull, but this will give him more to think about.
UPDATE: Howard Beck of the New York Times sees it this way: "My read on Amar'e/NY: Not done deal, but likely because Knicks offering the most money. Issue: Is he willing to be savior if no one else comes?"

In recent days, some have characterized the Knicks as a team that might completely strike out on big-name free agents.
But a report from Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports on Friday could signal a change.
They report that the Knicks and Amare Stoudemire are "making progress in talks" on a max contract worth $100 million over five years.
"The framework of the deal, which would give Stoudemire a $17.2 million starting salary next season, is in place and the two sides are expected to talk again soon, sources said," they write. "Stoudemire is expected to travel to New York on Saturday. The Knicks and Stoudemire aren't each other's first choices, but Stoudemire wanted a fifth year guaranteed and the Knicks needed to have something to show for years of losing and working to clear cap space."
We stress that there still appears to be some work to be done before this becomes a done deal.
Stoudemire is reportedly done with the Suns, and as Spears and Wojnarowski note, a guaranteed fifth year -- and more money -- seems to be luring Stoudemire.
Stoudemire could be used to attract LeBron James, though word is he's not giving the Knicks serious consideration at this point.
Outside of Joe Johnson, this is about the closest a big name has gotten to biting on a contract so far.
Stay tuned.
