[12/27] Week 16 , Oakland Raiders @ Cleveland Browns 1:00 PM EST, TV: CBS

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can't believe people would rather lose.

Same people would be CRYING about how horrible the Browns are because they lost to the Raiders and Chiefs.

Can you prove this?

Let's lose more games so that our roster gets more depressed and wants to leave the team, the fans stop showing up to games and spending their $$ on the team, the NFL laughs at us even more, more Free Agents skip visits to the Browns due to their ineptitude, and get that top 5 pick that has a 50/50 shot of being a bust!

Yay!

Let's win more games so that our roster gets super happy, and cheery, and feels good about themselves, and gets inflated egos, and thinks they're actually a good team when they actually still suck and need players at every position!

Works both ways...I dont get how people cant at least acknowledge both viewpoints.

I acknowledge that your viewpoint is not very sound.

Happy? ;)

edit: also, the roster we have now does need to be changed. These guys are busting their asses because they know their new boss is watching and they're essentially auditioning for him. How is this a bad thing?

So cats will play hard when they have to, and go back to sucking at the start of next season when there is no heat.

How is that a GOOD thing?

BTW I only said that I acknowledge both viewpoints as being valid. These wins dont do anything for us. Nothing at all. Yet, as I said, I hate losing, period.

oh im sorry damage i guess my "hurray! the browns are going to win another game." that was just too pessimist for you to handle.

No. You're just a tool and you do the same shit on my message board. You have yet to provide sound logic as to why rooting for your team to LOSE is being a fan.

Winning against teams that are bad means that the Browns aren't the worst team in the league.

They are not the laughing stock that everybody thought they were, and it means that they are making progress.

It's a building block that has been put into place and I think that means that Mangini stays.

With wins the team is going in the right direction and anything else proves that they are not. So which do you want?

Oh, I believe winning is going to help the Browns in a big way. Winning next week as well will be especially huge. It gives the team lots of confidence going into next year as we have lots of young players who will also be on the team next year. Winning can only help. It cannot possibly hurt. If you are saying it hurts because our draft pick is going to be lower; I can't agree with that as being a hurt.

So when we start next year on a 5 game losing streak, what will you say? Really, I'm not being a douche, I'm just a little confused as to why people think winning the last 3 or 4 games against bad teams is going to suddenly pump us up and make us good next year.

What will you say if we when the first five in a row next year? You see, you can look at things one way or the other way. I choose to look at it optimistically.

Every year, teams beat teams they're suppose to beat. 4 weeks ago, did you think we could beat KC? What about Oakland? For sure not Pittsburgh. Point is, the fact that we're winning, despite our marginal talent, shows this team is buying into Mangini's game plan.

I think the odds slightly favor that NOT occurring...sorry, but it's true.

That is good, I never said there is no good in winning, I would just prefer having more options available come draft time to winning a few extra games, is all.

But draft position doesn't mean shit. If it did, us and the Lions would be awesome right now, and we're not. Picking higher doesn't correlate to more wins. I understand your logic, I just adamantly disagree with it.

The draft is loaded. If we lose out on Berry, Suh or McCoy, Rolando McClain is a pretty nice consolation prize. So is Joe Haden. The thing is, we have needs everywhere, especially on defense. As you can see, the defense is playing over their heads. Some days they have it (see today and pittsburgh), others they don't (See every other game lol). It's a testament to Ryan coaching up these no name guys who go out there and playing their hearts out. Imagine if he had a player like McClain to build around.

Believe me, I want Eric Berry as much as anyone. But I would never sacrifice wins for a higher slot. Winning these "meaningless" means a lot more. If we win our last game, it's our first 4 game winning streak since 1984

There are relatively few "for sures" when it comes to the draft and I don't understand why people perpetually look to that as the best way to make the team better. I would rather see the guys that we already have start to play well then hold out for a guy in the draft that has a chance to be good. I really don't see any down side to winning, it helps our players gain confidence however meaningless it may be and it gives us an idea of the players that we want to keep around for next season. I also think that alot of people are forgetting that we are missing alot of guys that are out with injuries like Rodgers and D. Jackson to just name a couple off the top of my head. So getting some of those guys back and drafting and signing positions of need for us in the offseason can help to get this team back on track. I don't think you'll find many people claiming that we will be a great team next year but depending on the QB situation we could be an 7-9ish team, obviously that is depending on how the offseason goes but I think that is about what the goal is for next year. Altough I am an optimist so you can also say that I am off my rocker if you want as well. :chuckles:

Our first 4 win streak since 1984...just, means nothing to me. I'm sorry, sue me... We will agree to disagree. I'm not going to complain about Browns wins.
