[12/27] Week 16 , Oakland Raiders @ Cleveland Browns 1:00 PM EST, TV: CBS

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Our first 4 win streak since 1984...just, means nothing to me. I'm sorry, sue me... We will agree to disagree. I'm not going to complain about Browns wins.

Well to be honest, and no offense, why do you even watch and root for a football team? Can you not see this team progressing? Remember early on in the season when everyone said this was going to be a long process?

LOL

Yes, it will be a long process and I never said I don't accept that. I start the season hoping to go to the playoffs. Isn't that the initial goal? Since we're not going, no, I am not terribly excited by meaningless wins when pressure is off. It's the same way with the Tribe. I get enjoyment out of watching my team win, but when I turn the TV off I am able to admit these wins don't really mean anything.

Now if these guys we picked up off the streets turn into perennial Pro Bowlers and it all stemmed from some success we had at the end of a horrible season, you will be proven right. Until then...just not my cup of tea...

oh come on guys, its cmstophe, hes our local pessimist. I thought everyone knew that already?

Rather than read what I have to say, or agree to disagree, we just resort to being a douche bag. Classic.

Thanks to Damage for at least talking.

Not really trying to make it personal, just a friendly jab i guess. Back during the tribe season you are always on the negative side or you just look at things differently.

I tend to look at things as a whole too positive, like i was exciting coming out of training and thought we would be a better team than were at the beginning of the season.

To the topic of it being better to lose games for our draft position, i think its pretty stupid. I guess then since the browns should just go into every year worrying about our draft position. Winning games builds confidence in the system that mangini is running and confidence within our players. It shows that we have found something to build off of and maybe we arent as big of a disaster of a team that was previously thought.

So maybe we lose out on berry but whos to say that he doesnt pan out or has a dramatic fall like Mays did.

Fair enough, then, didn't know you meant it in a lighthearted manner.

Forgive me for not having wholesale confidence in the Browns or any semblance of momentum carrying into next season. They've never really been any good since I've been alive and thus I have little reason to believe until I see it.

cmstophe, what do you want to see exactly (seriously)?

It sounds to me like you would rather see us suck it up for several years, load up the high picks and hope one day we blow up and beat the Indys, NEs, and Eagles' of the NFL... That, to me, doesn't sound like anything that resembles a winning strategy or thought process...

Beating crappy teams has validity issues (as it should, I admit), but how is it a bad thing that: 1) we have a RB that has crapped on those two teams (bad teams or not, his performances have been excellent); 2) our line has played well; 3) our penalties continue to be scarce; and 4) our players seem to care more and more.

These things are all signs of a team that is growing. We all knew this process was going to be long and the beginning of the season showed how far behind we actually were, but now we're showing signs of life. The Browns have finally begun to show the will and ability to win from week to week. It isn't exactly like we've snuck by these teams either. We still have several holes and as much as I like Eric Berry, we can use anybody in the top 10 picks of the draft. Any way you spin these wins, the consistent theme has been tremendous effort from players who want to win.

If you actually listen to post-game interviews and not what the skeptical media serves you then you will understand that the players care about: 1) winning; 2) the city and its fans; and most of all 3) each other.

I know you agree to disagree with these posts, but I haven't gotten a chance to respond so I can't let you off yet. You really don't want to see the team win so you can have ammo to shoot the team down with at the end of the season? Are you just that ready to dismiss any signs of life from the team (the exact mentality that holds a team back from realizing it's talent)? I don't mean to sound like an ass, but really what kind of a Browns fan are you?

I don't think I can explain myself any clearer or in any other way if you don't understand my point of view yet....

Although since you just got here, I will remind you that I posted saying I enjoyed seeing us win and won't complain about wins.

Oh I read all of the posts up to the end here. I understand that you enjoy wins, but it seems to me that you are just enjoying the point differential and not what happened to get us there. Be it against a bad team or not. This team is winning games without a QB that has put us in a position to win (as opposed to not helping us lose). I can't impress you or change your opinions, I can just tell you why I feel the way I do and hope it hits home somewhere for you...

I guess I'm just not convinced that these wins really mean anything, that next year this team will be playing with the same fire and determination that they are right now. We'll see.

I just wanna say this quick...

Bengals game...that was a tie, he missed that kick.
Lions game...should've won in my eyes, rarely do I say something like that but I still view it as a win.

This team should be 5-9-1. I see improvement, I see youth, I see excitement and I see a future winner.

I'd say these wins mean something.. If you only have one win in a season and go on huge losing streaks, all of your players want the season to end, and just want to collect pay checks. You go on a win streak or start winning games, you'll have players who actually want to play because winning feels good..
