This has become the norm in the NBA. I love the semi-circle to help with block/charge calls, but the NBA refs have gotten lazy and now no longer pay attention to anything but that circle to determine whether a block or charge should be called. So many times guys are moving their feet after the offensive player gets into his shooting motion and yet they still call a charge simply because the defender is outside of the circle.
