Honestly, Its just a big moneyfest. Cleveland isn't a big enough market for a prodigy like Lebron, so he made a deal with the devil to go to south beach. After the Olympics, that devil David Stern told him if he went to the bigger market in Miami, he would get him his ring there because he could line it up for him to go play with DWade and Bosh. In Sterns eyes financially it was what is best for the league. Stern doesn't care about the little guy. So, I think Lebron quit in 2010 because he knew he was leaving anyways, he just needed an excuse to bail out of the playoffs (elbow). However, Lebron is too good, so at that moment it should have been clear that he was set up to leave after that faked injury. At the same time while Lebron was riding it out in CLE, Miami was making moves to give itself cap space to prepare for Lebrons coming.

It is of upmost importance that we get a second superstar next to Kyrie. If we do not, and Kyrie Irving becomes a top 5 player, if he wants a ring, he will be gone. David Stern will not sit around and watch cash cow Irving rot away his career in CLE winning nothing. Stern will try to tempt Kyrie into going to a bigger market to play by guaranteeing him a ring and one or two other superstars. Same thing he did with Lebron. So, we need to make moves, and we need to make them now to ever have a fighting chance in this league. Our window of time is small. You can not rely on "player loyalty" when they want a ring. The prize of going down in history is greater than the temtation to stay "loyal" and lose all that. So, get it done, Grant.

Edit: oh and I think that Lebron tanked on purpose last year just like he did in 2010 on purpose. He looked like he was doing it on purpose. I do not think he "choked." I think he was told to play poorly, so the league wouldn't look as bad. Because everyone knows that if they won the title their first year together there would be problems. I mean the Mavs were a good team, but I just think Miami lost on purpose more then the Mavs won undisputably.

Let's find a better way to debate and disagree - MoFlo

I think what I'm most angry with is the fact that I'm really not angry. Movin' on!

Well, Mark Cuban ripped Skip Bayless a new one on First take this morning.

Miller will be amnesty'd.

Money isn't an issue for Arison.
He pretty much blew a lot of revenue just for this championship.

Not entirely true. His cruise business took a big hit with the current economy and the Costa Concordia disaster.

I have to say...congratulations to Chris Bosh! Even if he does play for the Heat, I've always love that dinosaur looking bastard.

Folks, if wade keeps declining they simply wont win another. Oklahoma city is going to be improving from here on out. Miami, who has no cap room and no draft picks, is going to need to hope people sign for scraps and give up tons of money in order to ring chase. Personally i dont think many will do that. They needed all three of these guys to be superstars for them to be able to win four or five and i think wade will take a nose dive next season

"First of all, you're under the assumption that people care what you say. They don't."

The Heat amnesty Mike Miller allowing them to offer the MLE to a player. Let's just throw out a worst case scenario for them Ramon Sessions. This makes Chalmers/Cole expendable allowing the Heat to move one of them in a package with another role player, lets say Chalmers and Anthony.

Heat trade Chalmers and Anthony to Charlotte for Tyrus Thomas.

Heat's line up would then be

Sessions/Cole
Wade/Battier
LeBron/Battier
Bosh/Haslem
Thomas/Haslem

Better than their 2012 line up. Thomas is better than Anthony, Haslem comes in off the bench instead.

Or they try and do a trade with Orlando to get back JRich and Davis.

I believe Battier/Chalmers/Anthony would work, and would save Orlando some money in the end if they end up dealing Dwight it serves multiple purposes for them. Worse team, less money.

Ugh:

"LeBron James ‏@KingJames
OMFG I think it just hit me, I'm a CHAMPION!! I AM a CHAMPION!!"

They would still only be able to offer the Taxpayer MLE.

Supposing Turiaf picks up his player option (why wouldn't he?), and the Heat amnesty Mike Miller, their salary would be roughly 72.7 million. If the luxury tax stays the same at 70 million, then they would only be able to use the Non-Taxpayer MLE so long as they didn't go over the apron after the MLE is added to the books. (70 million + 4 million apron = 74 million). Therefore if they use the Non-Taxpayer MLE they would only be able to offer 2.3 million of that. So the Taxpayer MLE would actually allow them to spend more money on a free agent (3 million).

Now if Turiaf doesn't pick up his option (I don't see why that would happen) then Miami can use 4.1 million of their Non-Taxpayer MLE. But that's it. Barring a trade for smaller contracts Miami can not offer the full Non-Taxpayer MLE... (that is assuming the Luxury Tax line doesn't increase... however I don't have that information yet).

Mike Miller might retire, they wont have to amnesty him.
