2012 NFL Draft Rumor Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't see why McCoy needs to be traded at all. If he helps you get into the 2nd round as part of a package, fine I can live with that. If you are going to get some 6th or 7th round pick who has less than a 50% chance of making the team, whats the point?

Talk of team chemistry, hurt feelings, etc is crap. If you have the right coaching this is not an issue. If the coach comes in and says the truth and puts Colt in his place, I don't care if Colt's feelings are hurt, he better be ready to play if Weeden is hurt.

Shurmur/Childress/Heckert/Holmgren need to sit Colt down and tell him, Weeden is the starting QB, Colt will be the backup. That's it. If Weeden gets hurt, Colt better be ready to play. If Colt can't deal with that, then he's out the door. Don't stand for BS, just lay down the law at the start and be done with it.

I think you're inviting a QB controversy keeping Colt around. From a strict X's and O's perspective, it makes sense to keep him around. When you throw the human element into it (players and fans), it's risky to keep him around.

My point is if you handle it incorrectly, yes you have a problem. If you make explicitly clear to Weeden/McCoy and the rest of the team what the pecking order is and how this will play out you will not have problems. As far as the fans, they can bitch and moan all they want. If Weeden isn't getting the job done then they can complain. If he wins games like he should there shouldn't be a peep about Colt McCoy ever again.

Thoughts?

NFL Network's Albert Breer reported, based on conversations with multiple team executives, that Jenkins' market value could be around a fourth-round draft pick.

Browns all day on ESPN so far. Oddly, Skip Bayless loves what we did. Funny as shit hearing Mangini evaluating us, talking about how he liked McCoy, and saying that we really need receivers.

He probably recommends we get a bunch of retread bench-warmers from the Jets.

Yeah Eric we need receivers because you picked a couple of fucking corpses in the 2nd round. Oh and we need an outside linebacker because you fucking picked David Veikune and because you passed on Clay Matthews 3 different times you big boy lookalike fuck.

Good trade then. Fuck Blackmon

Random question. Would you guys be opposed to taking another QB late as a developmental pick? Someone like Lindley maybe?

Love Lindley, wouldn't be opposed but would have been more comfortable with it had they kept the extra picks.

When you're wrong, usually you continue to defend yourself for a while but eventually give it up. However, MKC is a woman. We'll be hearing about Blackmon for years to come.
