Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If sessions wants to come for the minimum that would be great. But I doubt it. He will want to get paid. And even if the cavs had money to spend I wouldn't give it to him. His skill is scoring and that's redundant with our team.

Uhhhh...that post you replied to says he SIGNED with Sacramento...

I honestly don't even want Hibbert. I think he'd just clog the lane for our slashers, and I'd take a healthy Andy over him anyway.
Hibbert is actually a solid shooter from 16 feet and in. Sure, you Roy cannot show on the perimeter like Varejao, but do have a few guys that can. Imagine a lineup with Varejao and Hibbert for small stretches, that could be a lot of fun to watch.

Roy Hibbert probably isn't worth his contract, but he's pretty damn good. Don't know why someone really thinks like he wouldn't be useful for our team. But as mention, it's not happening though.

So he's not a true all-star, that means he's seriously not that good? Please, take a look around the NBA, and tell me how many really quality 7 foot centers are in the league.

You don't need 5 floor spacers anyway, ideally, you'd like at least one big man that clean up around the rim. Roy Hibbert wouldn't just fit in, he'd blossom on our team. Andy isn't a floor spacer himself, so to lobby for Andy, but not want Hibbert because you're fearful he'd clog up the lane makes no sense to me.

Would love to have Hibbert on this team. But won't happen.

Exactly. If you can turn Haywood and three non-guranteed contracts into a player such as Hibbert, you do it 9 times out of 10. He'd be the 5th best player on the team and would pretty much only be asked to clean the glass and defend the paint. Literally no team would get a rebound with any combination of Tristan/Andy/Love/Hibbert/LBJ on the floor.

There are definitely better fits as players, but adding Hibbert certainly wouldn't hurt. If nothing else, his trade value would likely shoot through the roof as a member of the Cavs.

Larry Sanders is more realistic and honestly I would rather have him. If he cleans up his act he is the better fit right now. However both IND and MIL will keep both I assume. I do not think the Pacers are giving up and unless Sanders demands a trade or says he is gone, MIL will hang on to him as long as they can.

Sanders has talent, no doubt about it, but he's a head case. Why would we want to pick up the $44 million contract of a head case?

Terry Pluto:
The Cavs will bring veteran point guard A.J. Price to training camp. He played in only 28 games for Minnesota last season, and saw little action. The 6-foot-2 Price has played in 235 NBA games, averaging 5.9 points and shooting .381 from the field for his career.

Maybe this is the reason? ;) 23 points on Lebron's Miami:

In that game he had 0 assists, not great for a PG...

you have 5 players on the roster from last year. you have 2 all stars coming in and a center who was under all star consideration when last fully healthy.
you have a bunch of hardware sitting on your bench with guys who know how to get it done

let them play

just because you can spend it doesnt mean you should. the prognosis on haywood is geting better every day. you have stellar rebounding and what looks like to be a very very efficient offense.

if its not enough.. you see if theres any teams looking for cap space with a decent bg man they willing to move and make the trade.

Hibbert could be an option a year from now. I don't hate on him like a lot do. He gets a bad reputation, because he's not a guy that can lead a team. That doesn't mean he's a bad player, he's just not a star. As a role player? He's great. The guy is one of the best interior defensive players in the NBA. Him next to Kevin Love would be a nightmare for the league. I mean, David West is like a mini-Love. Our front court alone would be the best in the NBA.

I don't think anyone would challenge us honestly if he was on our team. That would almost be unfair.

He gets a bad rep because he could have been Claude Rains with his performance in the playoffs this past season. Most times, during those playoffs, the Pacers were better with him off the court then on it. He was killing them. Hibbert was mentally broken. So, before we consider trying to acquire him, we have to be sure that he can be fixed. He has an awfully large contract to have him pull a disappearing act again.

He had a rough series, and there was a lot of pressure put on him. He was asked to do more than what he's capable of doing. I don't think that suddenly makes him horrible.

Players can be put in positions that they're not comfortable with. He's just not an alpha that can lead is all. We'll have to wait anyways, we don't have the salary yet to match for him in a deal. But I would definitely pull the trigger on it when the time comes. Is there many better real centers in the NBA that we'll have a chance to acquire on this roster?

He's a little overpaid, I agree, but that wouldn't turn me off. He's not grossly overpaid, I'd prefer him at 10 million a year, but in this league most big men don't comes cheap that can actually play.

Thing is he put himself in a position to demand things he's unable to do like sayin ''i need the ball in my hands i need to score'' Also he called Lance selfish after things getting worse which is a bad sign. Lance sayin about him 'in the locker at halftime he smiles he says everything is fine after a 1-8 shooting and 1 reb while he's working on zero everythings' I watched every postseason game they played. He had i guess 4 times ''0 points 0 reb 29min games'' . Those games didn't just come against Hawks. He had one of those in every round. He also got blocked by Kover twice in a game. So he's really breakable mentally. If we meet Pop or Carslile in the Finals they just toy with him and play with his psychology. So i don't want a 'soft' center in my roster for a 15m. For 8-10 it's ok. but still I would rather Sanders who has a chip on his shoulder every time. He may have some problems in the locker room but that won't be an issue in our veteran and winner filled locker room.

The problem with Hibbert is that, like Bynum, he wants to be a central part of the offense, and he starts to sulk if he doesn't get what he wants on that end. And if he couldn't find enough touches playing on an offense-starved team like the Pacers, well...he certainly won't enjoy himself as the 5th option here.

And to those who would argue that he won't hurt us too much on offense, don't let his All-Star tag fool you. Last season he shot 43.9% from the field, and averaged 13 points, 3.0 offensive boards, 1.4 assists, and 2.2 turnovers per 36 minutes. For comparison, good ole Henry Sims shot 47.4% from the field, and averaged 14.4 points, 4.3 offensive boards, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 turnovers per 36 minutes.

Finally, there's the issue that he's only effective defensively against certain teams. If the opposing center can hit jump shots (Bosh, Gasol, Horford, Jonas, Jefferson, and Antic all come to mind in the East), then Hibbert can't camp in the paint all day, and once he's out of the paint he's no longer a plus defender. This stands in contrast to defensive specialists like Asik who can be effective in any situation thanks to their tenacity, high motor and lateral mobility.

Maybe I would be willing to kick the tires on him if his contract were more reasonable, but 15M/year just seems absurd for a guy who's so mind bogglingly inconsistent.
