2014 Free Agency Period: News and Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hibbert could be an option a year from now. I don't hate on him like a lot do. He gets a bad reputation, because he's not a guy that can lead a team. That doesn't mean he's a bad player, he's just not a star. As a role player? He's great. The guy is one of the best interior defensive players in the NBA. Him next to Kevin Love would be a nightmare for the league. I mean, David West is like a mini-Love. Our front court alone would be the best in the NBA.

I don't think anyone would challenge us honestly if he was on our team. That would almost be unfair.
It is almost crazy to say, but a lineup of Irving/Waiters/James/Love/Hibbert would have the potential to be the best team ever. Don't get me wrong though, a lot of things would have to go right for them to actually get there.

He had a rough series, and there was a lot of pressure put on him. He was asked to do more than what he's capable of doing. I don't think that suddenly makes him horrible.

Players can be put in positions that they're not comfortable with. He's just not an alpha that can lead is all. We'll have to wait anyways, we don't have the salary yet to match for him in a deal. But I would definitely pull the trigger on it when the time comes. Is there many better real centers in the NBA that we'll have a chance to acquire on this roster?

He's a little overpaid, I agree, but that wouldn't turn me off. He's not grossly overpaid, I'd prefer him at 10 million a year, but in this league most big men don't comes cheap that can actually play.

It wasn't just ONE series. It was the last couple of months of the regular season and the entire playoffs for the most part. He shot .439 for the regular season, and .449 for the playoffs. He averaged 6.6 rebounds for the regular season and 5.5 rebounds per game for the playoffs. Dude is over 7 foot tall, expecting him to rebound should not be out of his comfort zone. The previous two seasons playoffs he shot over 50 percent and averaged over 10 rebounds a game. He just disappeared. I'm leery to take on that contract with his mental issues.

"His post moves look like they need a hand crank to start them up."

If anything, we really could use something that solidifies the spot that Z left us with when he went to Miami. We don't need a star at center, but someone that could help fill in the role. Question is: Does Roy Hibbert do that? His psychological problems tend to be more reminiscent of a Delonte West even more than an Andrew Bynum. Anderson Varejao is nice, but taking a beating from center on a nightly basis doesn't help prolong his career. He's more effective covering the court and we don't want to deal with Tim Duncan the same way Miami did in the finals last year.

With that said, I wouldn't mind seeing if Brendan Haywood could fill in for us this year. I mean sure, it's 14 years late, but I think Haywood could really help.

Not seeing it with Roy, since his general personality and character are a percent the level of what Z's was while he played (2003 would be a great example, he never spazzed and just waited patiently for the bad character guys to leave before being the starting center for the 2007 NBA Finals team and the central division championship team in 2009.

First kick the tires, then explore what you have, but Roy has a lot to prove. Didn't we learn last year trying to satisfy a malcontent of a center?

I thought your first post looked familiar. Everyone knows these are fake, right?

They may be fake but I'm still dying laughing. The Kobe one was the best

Funny thing that article came the same day on Hibbert's wedding. Everybody was asking if was it true at that day in twitter. This might partially ruin Roy's wedding

I didn't know while i was writing that i was only read Lance's part i wouldn't suprised if he said that. He might really said that that type of things after Roy called him 'selfish'.

Another funny thing Lance was the guy who asisted Hibbert most and has the most ast per game last season which means a little more dirt on Hibbert

Still very funny article :lgh (13):
