2015-2016 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Was looking around the league at some of the early preseason game performances and noticed Stanley Johnson seems to be a real player for the Pistons.

I thought the MO on him at the draft was as a defensive guy, but it seems like he can score/shoot pretty well?

He had very little hype around the draft I remember, but he's looking like he could be a player as a rookie.

5th best record != 5th best team

Ok, but it's probably the best indicator there is. You're also talking to someone who doesn't believe that how a team performs in the playoffs is the only thing that determines how good said team is. Now I understand it's all that matters in terms of who is crowned champion, but when talking about who the "best" team is I don't just throw the regular season out the window. But American sports love playoffs, so it is what it is.

A good friend of mine is a huge Pistons fan and he is flipping out about Johnson. They seem super happy with him.

Sam Smith is one of the more obnoxious NBA beat dudes out there. Desperately trying to hit that right combination of funny and snarky with every tweet and wildly missing every time.

I don't even know what he was trying to say in that tweet.

Townes scored 18 in their first preseason game, so he already blew threw the 10 point barrier. Also, getting blocked by Gasol is not exactly a badge of shame. Guy averaged almost 2 blocks a game last year and has for most of his career.

Sam Smith makes it seem like he got blocked by Mugsy Bogues.

Oh Klay Thompson....

Pistons are going to be an interesting team to watch. With Monroe gone now and a full season of their new additions they could be a 6-8 seed type in the east. Jennings is gone until mid year, but they have Jackson from the start now and Johnson seems to be a player as well giving them some athleticism at the 3 they didn't have.

SVG seems to be trying to rebuild his old Magic teams formula slowly but surely up in Detroit.

I remember when they flipped out about Stuckey.

So, the Warriors are salty that Doc said that you have to have luck in the West and gave the example of the Warriors missing both the Clips and Spurs in the playoffs. He didn't mention the fact that they also faced teams with major injuries along the way.

Obviously you can't fault the Warriors for being healthy, but to act like that wasn't an advantage is dumb too. My guess is the saltiness is due to them knowing the luck they had despite not being willing to admit it publically.

They're just looking for bulletin board material. They know they had an easy path and they are butthurt for people telling it like it is. Draymond Green, Iggy, and Klay Thompson already gave the cavs motivation though. Iggy openly mocking Lebron during the finals. Draymond I can't close my mouth but my lips so heavy Green's countless antics and comments. Klay Whiteson's comments at the podium.

Let's see how these fuckers do when we can actually throw different looks at them. Let's see what happens when Kyrie returns Steph Curry's ankles to mush. Love may be defensively challenged but the lane will be wide open for Lebron and company on offense. Shump on klay from the jump. Mo on backup pg duty while a well rested coffee drinking aussie is wreaking havoc on D every minute he's in the game. Iggy got away with a lot of shit on Lebron and I believe it was simply Lebron fatigue as far as the officials are concerned. Can't call a foul on every play. That won't be happening this time around because we have kyrie and mo who can handle the rock and Love can get it in the post/high post. Anything Kaun and RJ give is bonus imo. Oh forgot about JR...lol...watch what this guy can do when he isn't asked to be a second option. Not including Andy until he makes to the postseason healthy...but holy shit if he does. And when Thompson signs...sheesh. Wait, I forgot Mozilla... Oh the possibilities.

Every Illegal dirty screen they do won't matter.

Please let us play the Warriors in the finals again...if they can make it there.
