2016-2017 Around The NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Both step out to the 3 like as well at a reasonable %

Matchup hell for every single team in the league

Yeah that 1 vs 8 matchup would be fun as hell though if the Pelicans get the 8th seed

Who the hell guards the other of Cousins and Davis that Green isn't covering?

Zaza fucking Pachulia? JAVALLE MCGEE?

Lmao that would be a fun series. GSW obviously wins but they'd get physically embarrassed and emasculated

Please tell me 1 win over a mediocre team had no effect at all on dealing the coldest center in the league for freaking NOTHING

I refuse to believe a franchise is that inept

Look at it from the Kings perspective. After all these years with DMC how much better were they going to get and do you really think you can give him $200M? They have two young C prospects on their team. Even if Buddy is an average SG at best they will have two top 15 picks this year and no big long term salary commitments. they're basically were the Suns were before they drafted Booker. Only difference is they don't have anyone as good as Bledsoe.

And you have to realize that DMC value is not that high around the league. Sure we can mock a bunch of better trades that teams could have made but none of those teams got him. At some point people are going to have to realize that DMC isn't valued as much as people think regardless of how skilled he is.

Chris Haynes: New Orleans now seeking trade partner for forward Terrence Jones, league sources tell ESPN. Mutual decision on behalf of team, Jones’ camp.

Jones, I think, is one of those guys who thinks he's better than he actually is. I'd target a PG or a C ahead of him.

Hard to see Boston catching us.

Even if the Cavs were mediocre like 19-8 the Celtics would need to be 24-3 or so.

It just seems pretty unlikely.

Especially considering we play the Celtics, as do the Warriors, Wizards, Clippers etc

Half of our losses were games that we just threw down the toilet, too. We could EASILY have 5 or more wins. It's fairly stupid, actually.

This really put the whole thing in perspective. The Kings just opened a brand new arena. How far will your team go with DMC as your best player? Is he a $200M player? If we're being completely honest there may not be 5 players in the league who are. You have to take all of that into consideration when breaking this trade down.

Yes Buddy may not be more than an average SG right now but the Kings do have a few decent young pieces. They'll have two top 15 picks this year and will have a ton of cap space to go along with it. They have a good HC. The most important thing is they can now finally establish a new culture. I'm not sure if signing DMC for $219M would've been the best decision giving where that franchise is at the moment.

On no planet is Cousins even close to James/Harden/Westbrook/Kawhi/Coward level

Seriously there's a reason he went for as cheap as he did. He's not the commodity everyone made him out to be when you consider how much of a shit head he is
@Brizzle @Gus Zing

Which of the following players is Cousins better than

Lebron
Westbrook
Harden
Kawhi
Durant
Davis

Also to you guys, if his value around the league if so high why did he just go for a pretty mediocre package?

Still hard to believe that Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, a top-3-protected first, and a second was the best they could do...

Q: Did Cousins want to be traded?

A: No. And there's a very simple reason why. That $200 million extension was only possible with the Kings. Under the new rule, he can't get the same deal with the Pelicans or any other team. If he were to sign a max extension with the Pelicans this summer, it would be for five years and $180 million. So the trade might cost him $30 million. His agents were afraid of this. They were saber rattling in hopes that he wouldn't re-sign if he was traded; they were trying to scare the Pelicans and other teams off. It did not work.

Here's a question...

Does Buddy Hield and a non-lottery first rounder have more value than Kevin Love?

To some teams yes. To a team that has, apparently, made cap space a priority, Id guess not.

SAC has listened to Darren Collison offers (as I wrote last week). Now, executives believe he'll definitely be traded. He's an UFA in July.

I been pushing for this guy and the Cavs have to get him or die trying. He fits perfect he is Kyrie light off the bench.
