2016-2017 Around The NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I get a team like Orlando or Phoenix not wanting to give up picks and cheap players for Cousins. They aren't winning right now, and if they don't start winning right away, he might leave. So I get it.

I'm just wondering about some of these other teams (like Oklahoma City) with star players, who ARE winning, not jumping all over this.

Yeah, why didn't Boston make the Godfather offer of two NJ firsts or one NJ first plus A young piece or expiring..would have been totally worth it for them, what are they waiting for?

I mean, thank god they didn't, but seems crazy

Cousins agent has stated there's no guarantee he'd sign with the team who'd trade for him long term.

I like the pairing of boogie and ad because they can both pass and make plays from around the basket and the perimeter. They need shooting around them though ASAP

Aside from Cousins. Kings should stay away from drafting in the first round. They've done decent in round 2 but damn they've been miserable in round 1

McLemore
Stauskas
Robinson
Cauley-Stein
Hawes
Chriss
Evans
Thompson
Casspi

Has to be the Cleveland Browns of the NBA.... They're like 10 years away....

They still have Jrue, who is the perfect PG for that team. Boogie, AD, Jrue is an excellent spine!

Current Starting 5:-

Boogie - AD - Cassipi - E'Twaun - Jrue.

With a bench of:-

Motiejunas, Asik, Ajinca, Solomon Hill, Tim Frazier, Cunningham etc.

They can trade someone like Terrence Jones for a decent some wing/guard probably.

They need to get rid of Solomon hill and his massive deal as well

I like this trade solely for the fact that this probably just set the market for a Carmelo Anthony trade. Now all NY can get for him is peanuts compared to what the Kings just got for Cousins....hopefully. :coffee:
Also the Ibaka deal was seen as an undersell. Maybe the cap has caused a destabilising effect on the value of soon to be free agents

It will be interesting to see what Gentry does with AD and Cousins. Certainly an oddly constructed team in todays small-ball, three-point shooting obsessed NBA.

I think its all about trends. Sure today the game is all about the small-ball because good big-men are hard to come by and some teams found success with small ball. But if this AD/Cousins experiment has any success, then you will see other teams try and recreate.

Trends are usually cyclical, and I would not be surprised to enter the big-men game in the next few years.
