2016-2017 Around The NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Raps kept their 2017 first? I thought it easy moved in the deal for Ibaka?

They gave up the Clippers pick (which is the worse one of the two). It's currently projected at #25. The Raptors still have their own 1st rounder, currently the #21 pick.

I really like what Dallas did. Got Noel for nothing. If they can get high enough to land a PG, that's a solid foundation with Noel and Barnes.

I wouldn't quite say "nothing". Justin Anderson has been a stud when he gets minutes, but has been burried behind Wes Matthews and Harrison Barnes. I think Justin Anderon should be an instant starter in Philly and I believe an upgrade over Gerald Henderson/Nik Stauskas and he can also eat minutes behind Robert Covington. Anderson is a helluva defender too.

I'm truly interested to see how the incorporate Anderson into the line-up.

I do like Nerlens Noel though and think Carlisle loves that type of guy. He sees Nerlens as that mobile, defensive big like Tyson Chandler who can change games with energy and ability to switch onto nearly all players on defense.

Masai Ujiri says they are willing to go over the tax to keep Lowry, Ibaka and Tucker etc.

Fair play to Toronto owners.

I don't think they will keep all 3 of Lowry, Ibaka and Tucker but can definitely see them keeping 2 of those 3. Which would be Lowry + Ibaka most likely.

And yeah, the deal of the day goes to Mavs.

To get someone like Noel for essentially Justin Anderson + two 2nd rounders is quality. Noel is restricted and they will most likely have the cap as well to re-sign him. They have their own pick in this draft. If they can draft in a good playmaker/ball-hander from this draft class, they would do well.

Also, I was getting worried about how stacked Philly was becoming but Bryan Colangelo gives me hope. That was an absolutely awful deal!

Dude how old are you? I'm starting to think you're a 12 year old who knows 0 about basketball. Idgaf if they get Kevin Durant in the offseason, the Celtics still wouldn't be on the same level as the Cavaliers and Kevin Durant himself knew that. Hence why he didn't even consider it!

I only have a mental age of 12; my body is much older. And my basketball knowledge is ENCYCLOPEDIC! I spent my (physical) youth watching Bill Fitch (and Bill Musselman) draw up plays in the huddle!

Not going to lie, I'm worried about Toronto. But let's see how rigidly they maintain that position if/when we crush them in the playoffs. You really want to be sunk in luxury tax for a team that doesn't have a real chance of contending?

Raptors have gotten better. No doubt.

But contender? Nah.

Will be a physical series though.

Good deal for OKC....

OKC officially gets Taj Gibson and Dougie McBuckets...OKC also somehow gets a 2nd rounder in this deal.

Chicago gets Anthony Morrow and Joffrey Lauvergne.

Transforms OKC's starting 5. McDermott at the 3 will stretch defenses, and now OKC has a legit PF starting instead of rookie Sabonis.

Westbrook
Oladipo
McDermott
Gibson
Adams

is a much more balanced and strong starting 5 than with Roberson and Sabonis is the starting 5.

The Bulls went from being favored in the East to a fire sale in two years...

Thats the thing.

I would prefer them facing in second round rather than ECF.

We need to wrap ECF soon and get some good rest!
