I wouldn't say he sucks...I'd say he became redundant with Otero and what he did last year, but not that he sucks...only so much room for soft-tossing RHPs who don't strike a lot of guys out coming out of your pen.

Party at Colabello's this year!

Indians won't be paying Eddie that.

And I hope to God they don't settle on Chris Carter. That fucking guy strikes out every AB in which he doesn't hit a homerun. He'd be a very annoying player to cheer for.

Hopefully they get creative through trade. I'd hate to see them not cash in while the window is wide open with our stellar all around pitching.

Not giving him 4/80 doesn't mean they won't give someone else something...and it certainly doesn't mean we will be relying on a unconfirmed minor league deal signing...

Trumbo and the O's broke off talks today...and your guy Mike Napoli, who you seemed to be so mad about potentially walking earlier in the process, are still out there and still connected to us.

Why all the hyperbole?

Who was the last free agent the team signed compared to Trumbo, EE, etc?

Unless they go out of their ways and surprise all of us. They did it with Andrew Miller, can't stop now.

I think if Indians wanted Napoli and Napoli wanted Indians, they'd be linked more and more in the press. So obviously to me Indians are checking other options with Nap on the back burner.

it would seem and I hope this is true. Because a reduced year with Nap, Bring back Brantley and have Our pitching core intact means we would be deadly. However this is Baseball and we may win the AL central but keep in mind how we got there. It seems great to want have everything perfect and for once we have what it takes even if we bring Nap back. This pitching staff alone will take us places so worry about the offense.

In reality it would be nice to add EE and more so to retain Nap, In the end the offense is a fickle thing in the MLB and adding EE would make our team so much more imposing. However healthy our pitching is top notch and that is what wins games.

I just feel next season is the year we go for it all. We have a lot of good young guys coming up in the next few seasons so maybe give Encarnacion a 4 year/70-75 front loaded contract that has player options for year three and four. So if his market is still good after those years he may be able to get more money elsewhere. I am thinking next two seasons are the years we have pretty much everyone under contract, since we got an Option on Brantley for 2018 so this could be an option this season

So...let me get this straight...say they don't sign Encarnacion or Trumbo...are you going to be mad if they re-sign Napoli? Cause I would find that absolutely hilarious...

Also, they are linked to them, as recently as yesterday...you're just either looking in the wrong places for stuff, or expecting a Winter Meetings amount of rumors to continue to come out in the mainstream, which you shouldn't be...

So, not sure what this means of Indians and EE but Baltimore has pulled its offer to Trumbo and is out of the running. Colorado the favorite now.

I agree...EE is the way to go...bringing Napoli back would be a step back because I have doubts he can repeat last year's production. Until I see Brantley actually play a game i'm not counting on him. They stepped up with Miller keep it up and get stronger now with EE...I don't think he's getting anything close to what he wanted

Did you not read where he won't accept anything other than the contract Toronto offered him to come here? Fuck that guy

The Indians let Jeff Manship go even thiugh he was/is slated to make only a small increase in salary- I doubt they go spending big on any reliever. Miller was their big spend. I see much dumpster- diving from here on out for the pen. Curious to see what they pull up.

Also Buster Olney said on Insider that there is no middle ground between Encarnacion and the Indians- he is only signing here for close to what he turned down from the BJs and the Tribe is obviously not anywhere near 4 years/80m in their offer.

No, I'd smile if we re-signed Nap, but I'd do back flips if we signed Trumbo/EE.

There's just little belief in the Tribe right now, Dolan's were probably so pissed when Bourn and Swisher stole their money that they're second guessing players. (I do realize Nap could fall flat and steal mega money)

They should try talking EE down, but give him 80 million with his incentives kicking in... 35 HRS, 100+ RBIS, Allstar, MVP etc. 20 million for those type of numbers and accolades seem right in today's league. But ideally I wonder if the max the Indians would pay him is 16-17 mil per year. If they weren't willing to even do that then they should have never spoke to his agent.
