Well, it's about that time where we are going to see stuff posted for the upcoming season that isn't recruiting based. So the 2015 football thread may have ran it's course. This thread can be used for the rest of the offseason & upcoming season. To start it off:

Alabama tops Way-Too-Early Top 25 in update after signing day

1. Bama
2. FSU
3. Michigan Wolverines
i

2015 record: 10-3, 6-2 Big Ten
Returning starters: 8 offense, 6 defense, 1 special teams

Key losses: C Graham Glasgow, QB Jake Rudock, LB Desmond Morgan, LBJoe Bolden, LB James Ross, FS Jarrod Wilson, DE Willie Henry

Outlook: Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh made a big splash with his first full recruiting cycle, signing a top-10 class. The crop includes No. 1 prospect Rashan Gary, who might be able to help on the defensive line right away. The Wolverines have to replace only three starters on offense, and Houston transferJohn O'Korn is the early favorite to replace departed quarterback Jake Rudock. New defensive coordinator Don Brown will have to replace the team's entire starting linebacker corps, but incoming freshman Devin Bush Jr. might be able to help.

4. Baylor
5. Clemson
6. LSU
7. Oklahoma
8. Standford
9. ND
10. Ohio State Buckeyes
i

2015 record: 12-1, 7-1 Big Ten
Returning starters: 3 offense, 3 defense, 2 special teams

Key losses: RB Ezekiel Elliott, OT Taylor Decker, C Jacoby Boren, WRBraxton Miller, DE Joey Bosa, LB Darron Lee, LB Joshua Perry, S Tyvis Powell, WR Michael Thomas, S Vonn Bell

Outlook: The Buckeyes signed the country's No. 5 recruiting class, and it's a good thing, because coach Urban Meyer said he wants 18 of his 25 signees to play this coming season. Ohio State certainly has plenty of holes to fill after nine underclassmen left early for the NFL draft. Five-star defensive end Nick Bosa is certainly capable of stepping on the field right away, as well as No. 3 outside linebacker Keandre Jones and No. 2 running back Demario McCall. The good news: Quarterback J.T. Barrett is coming back for his junior season. The bad news: The Buckeyes play road games at Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan State.

11. Houston (Damn! Go Herman)
12. Tennessee
13. Ole Miss
14. Michigan St.
15. TCU
16. USC
17. Iowa
18. UNC
19. Georgia
20. Oregon
21. UCLA
22. Oklahoma St.
23. Washington
24. Florida
25. Boise St.

Those rankings...yikes :chuckle:

Anyways...

B1G Champs. First 2 loss team to make the playoff.

They are taking this "The Land of the Wolves" thing pretty seriously....

Ohio State QB J.T. Barrett off to much better start in 2016

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- There was no captaincy awarded to J.T. Barrett at this time a year ago.

The Ohio State quarterback wasn’t a starter then. He wasn't even healthy enough to compete as preparations for spring football kicked off in February.

Across the board, the changes compared to this time one year ago are hard to miss for the redshirt junior, as gears up for his role as the unquestioned leader of the Buckeyes.

“It’s definitely going in the right direction,” Barrett said Wednesday. “I think last year with the quarterback controversy thing, trying to get healthy, then when I got healthy I just wasn’t where I was at as far as football and where I wanted to play, definitely in camp and at the beginning of the year.

“Now having that behind me, it’s just something you don’t have to worry about. It’s not really a weight lifted off me, but I just don’t have to worry about it and it’s not in the back of my head at all.”

The Buckeyes spent last offseason certain that the quarterback competition between a healthy Barrett and Cardale Jones wouldn’t be an issue. But both players eventually admitted that doubts in the back of their minds were more of a problem than anticipated. That ultimately left Barrett dealing with both mental and physical issues as he recovered from the broken ankle that ended his breakout freshman campaign. Regaining his confidence was just as crucial to his return to form late in the year as getting back to full strength.

But all those potential distractions are gone now. Jones is off to the NFL. Even if he was still around, the way Barrett ended the season -- with top-notch performances in wins over Michigan and Notre Dame -- solidified his status as the starter. There is no question about his health, which has allowed him to focus on fine-tuning his quick delivery. And in a somewhat unusual move by coach Urban Meyer, Barrett was named as one of three captains shortly after the season ended.

“That’s it, you know he’s the leader,” strength coach Mickey Marotti said. “He’s the quarterback, he’s going to be the guy, you know it, and he’s a guy I lean on a lot. He’s really helped those young receivers and running backs really develop, because there’s instant respect from the young guys to J.T.

“I think it’s easier because you know he’s the quarterback. There’s no guessing or [questioning] who it’s going to be or whatever. He’s the guy. It’s just been great, since we really haven’t had that since, what, Braxton [Miller’s] sophomore year? When you get injured or get a bump or a bruise during the season and you have to have surgery, you’re kind of out of the deal a little bit.”

Barrett found that out the hard way last year.

He won’t be dealing with that this time around. But perhaps more important than his captaincy or his ankle for the Buckeyes is simply knowing that the most crucial starting position is already filled.

“Now it’s just about keeping on developing, whether it’s out there doing drills or now developing leadership with our young guys, all of those things I’m taking into account,” Barrett said. “Now the focus is always trying to get better, developing skill, working on my craft personally and then as a leader of the team.

“How can I bring the young guys to the level where I’m at?”

Simply having Barrett healthy for workouts, setting the tone in the locker room and taking first-team reps in spring practice next month is certainly a good way to start. And it’s clearly an improvement from a year ago.

OSU vs. Michigan Twitter is absolutely nuts right now.

Can't embed from my phone, but Harbaugh went in on OSU AD Gene Smith after some comments he made in regards to using Florida practices to "jumpstart a program."

:chuckle:

Funny, the few Michigan fans I know bring up the tattoo scandal all the goddamn time whenever we're debating about something.

I guess it's a common thing for Michigan people to point out (although irrelevant now).

Oh, it is quite common. They also love to say that OSU's vacated win over them in 2010 isn't included in the record either. It's sad, really.

And I've heard "liar liar vest on fire!" way too many times. God, what a depressing bunch of people.

Harbaugh showing he can talk trash as well as Mike Hart, who, coincidentally, has the same win% vs OSU as Harbaugh.
