Talkin bout right nao tho
Still, who cares?

Do you think Bama fans care that Ole Miss beat them last year?

We're in the playoffs and PSU will be getting slaughtered by somebody in a NY6 bowl.

I know.

And we'll get slaughtered by Alabama. At the end of the day who cares.

Bama is absolutely beatable, by any of the four teams.

Their offense is atrocious. If any of the top four teams can stay away from turnovers, they'll hang around.

Committee has already established that Conference Championships will not take precedent.

Zero chance Ohio state doesn't get in. Zero chance they fall to 4. Unless Clemson blows out VT in 2nd half, zero chance they move out of the #2 spot.

Well, unless Penn State plays Western Michigan. Which is looking probable.

Good chance the next time they play they have a different play caller...or at least one who has both feet already out of the door...

The system has always favored wins over power of schedule/body of work. Its just how it works. If you want to get rid of that system eliminate the polls until the last week of the season/after the bowls.

That said as an oklahoma fan i feel tOSU is a better team than wisconsin or penn st, in fact i think UM is a better team right now than them as well. But I do believe that winning your conference should come into play. How much it matters is up for debate, but if you arent the best team of your conference how can you make the argument youre the best team in the country? Bama is the best team in the country but had they lost today, I think there would have been a very good and reasonable explanation to leave them out of the playoff, the same that i think there is a very good and reasonable explanation to leave tOSU out of the playoff. Win your damn conference. I also think thats how the system is set up, and thats what it rewards.

I will say though if the system was designed to promote who we think the best teams in the country are RIGHT NOW its bama, tOSU, washington, and OU/Michigan. Those are the best 4 playing teams right now. But how you weigh winning your conference VS number of wins VS overall body of work is up to you.

You could also very easily argue that the two best teams in the conference played last week, and that OSU came out on top. The divisions in the B1G are laughably unbalanced, with OSU, UM, PSU, and MSU (I know, I know, they had a down year) all in the same division.

If it comes down to win/loss record, the Bucks win. If it comes down to strength of schedule, the Bucks win.

Also, how soon people forget that Alabama played for (and won) a title a few years ago without even winning their division.

OSU, or anyone for that matter, will have to pass the ball effectively to beat Alabama. Alabama's run D is crazy good and I don't really see anyone running against them.

That's true, they may be better by the time the playoff rolls around.

I'm with you...hopefully a sidetracked Kiffin sticks around through the playoff though, like Herman did...

Not that I would take his word for it, but he did come out and say he was staying at Bama for the duration of the playoffs at least.
